G. Position of the Landing Gear
(1) Nose landing gear (NLG)
(a)
X position (Ref. Fig. 613/TASK 05-56-00-991-015)
(b)
Y position (Ref. Fig. 613/TASK 05-56-00-991-015)
1_ Make a projection to the floor of the centerline of the NLG
jacking point with SET-PLUMB BOBS MLG NLG WHEELS
(98D08003000000)
2_ Align a cord with HOLDING SET - MEASURING CORD
(98A08001005000) along the centerline of the aircraft through
the points 11 and 12.
3_ Write down the X position of the jacking point in relation to
the point 11 (dimension XC).
4_ Calculate the position of the axis of the shock strut of the
landing gear.
1 Measure the variation between the axis of the NLG shock strut
_ and the aircraft centerline.
2 The sign of the deviation is + if the offset of the axis of
_ the shock strut is to the right. It is - if the offset is to the left.
(c) Verticality of the axis of the shock strut (Ref. Fig. 613/TASK 05-56-00-991-015)
1 Write down the angle Alpha (left side) (in a plane
_ perpendicular to the aircraft centerline). Write down the angle Beta (in a plane parallel to the aircraft centerline). Do these measurements with a clinometer.
(2) Main landing gear (MLG)
(a) X position (Ref. Fig. 613/TASK 05-56-00-991-015) For each landing gear :

1_ Align a cord with HOLDING SET - MEASURING CORD
(98A08001005000) along the centerline of the aircraft through
the points 11 and 12.
2_ Write down a perpendicular line to the aircraft centerline in
relation to the point 11.
3_ Make a projection to the floor of the axis of the MLG jacking
points with the tool SET-PLUMB BOBS MLG NLG WHEELS
(98D08003000000).
4_ Write down the X position of the axis of the shock strut in
relation to the point 11.
(b) Y position and symmetry of the landing gears (Ref. Fig. 614/TASK 05-56-00-991-016)
1 Put the LANDING GEAR WHEEL TOE-IN LINE BAR (98D08103000000) or
_ LANDING GEAR WHEEL TOE-IN LINE BAR (98D08103000001) in horizontal position on outboard side of the main landing gear wheel.
2 Make a projection of the two ends to the floor with the plumb
_ line.
3 Measure the distance of the projections of the points to the
_ aircraft centerline. Subtract the forward and aft dimensions and calculate the toe-in of the landing gears.
(c) Angles of the axis of the shock strut (Ref. Fig. 613/TASK 05-56-00-991-015)
1 Write down the angle Alpha (left side) (in a plane
_ perpendicular to the centerline of the aircraft). Write down the angle Beta (in a plane parallel to the centerline of the aircraft). Do these measurements with a clinometer.
