Disconnect the switch wires from the terminal block, TB192, at the YC1 pin and the electrical ground.

 E. Install the Standby Switch (Fig. 401)
 S 434-010
 (1)  Put heat shrink tubing on the full length of the switch wire on the replacement switch.
 NOTE: Do not put heat shrink tubing on the switch wire at
____
 connection points.

Hold the standby switch in its correct position and install the fasteners.

Connect the switch wires to the terminal block, TB192, at the YC1 pin and the electrical ground.

Make sure the switch operates freely.

Make sure the roller will move down a minimum of 0.04 inch (1.0 mm)

Do the check that follows for continuity between the YC1 pin on terminal block TB192 and the electrical ground:

 (a)  
Connect one lead of the volt ohmmeter to the YC1 pin and connect the other lead to the electrical ground.

 (b)  
Make sure there is no continuity between the YC1 pin and the electrical ground.

 (c)  
Move and hold the right STAB TRIM lever 10 degrees from its neutral position (0.70 to 0.90 inches (17.8-22.8 mm) measured on the control stand surface).

 (d)  
Make sure there is continuity between the YC1 pin and the electrical ground.


 NOTE: The standby switch is closed at this position.

Move the right STAB TRIM lever 10 degrees forward and aft of its neutral position and do the check that follows:

 (a)  
Make sure the standby switch operates correctly.

Follow these steps to operate the right STAB TRIM lever to examine the movement of the standby switch:

 (a)  
Move the right STAB TRIM lever forward (NOSE DOWN) until you get continuity in the switch, S538.

 (b)  Make sure that the STAB TRIM lever movement is between 0.17 to
 0.50 inch (4.3-12.7 mm) from the neutral position, measured on the control stand light plate.
 (c)  
Move the right STAB TRIM lever aft (NOSE UP) until you get continuity in the switch, S538.

 (d)  
Make sure that the STAB TRIM lever movement is between 0.17 to


 0.50 inch (4.3-12.7 mm) from the neutral position, measured on the control stand light plate.

If you cannot get the correct condition to occur in the standby switch movement check, do these adjustments:

 (a)  
Put a piece of tape on the control stand light plate adjacent to the right STAB TRIM lever.

 (b)  
Identify the lever neutral position on the tape as point "N".
