CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE STOP LUGS HIT EACH OTHER TOO MUCH WHILE THE
_______ THE TRAVEL LIMIT MECHANISM IS ADJUSTED.
(7)
Use the STAB TRIM control levers to move the stabilizer in the airplane nose up direction (stabilizer leading edge down).
S 865-494
(8)
Make sure that the travel limit mechanism stops the stabilizer. It should stop when the stop lugs on the lower end of the ballnut are 60 to 210 degrees from the stop lugs on the gearbox upper flange.
NOTE: One turn of the ballnut is equivalent to 0.625 inch
____
(15.87 mm) of axial movement along the ballscrew.
(a) Adjust the turnbuckles on cables SLA and SLB until stabilizer stops in the necessary range.
S 865-495
(9)
Move the stabilizer in the airplane nose down direction (stabilizer leading edge up) until it is stopped by the travel limit shutoff.
S 225-496
(10)
Make sure that the stops on the top end of the ballscrew are between 60 to 210 degrees from the stop lugs on the top end of the ballnut.
(a)
Adjust the turnbuckles on cables SLA and SLB until the above condition is correct.
S 825-497
(11)
Do the steps that follow and adjust the turnbuckles on cables SLA and SLB until all the conditions that follow are correct:
(a)
Use the STAB TRIM control levers to move the stabilizer in the airplane nose up direction (stabilizer leading edge down).

Make sure the conditions that follow are correct:
(a)
Cables do not contact pulley or quadrant flanges for total of cable travel.
(b)
Cables are within 2 degrees of the plane of the pulley or quadrant.
(c)
Pulleys turn freely with no blockage from the guards.
