Install the Control Switch for the Thrust Reverser (Fig. 401).

(1)
Use a soldering tool and solder to attach the wire leads to the control switch terminals.

Install the heat shrink sleeving over the exposed wire and terminal.

Install the applicable control switch with two screws on the mounting bracket of the applicable thrust lever as follows:
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the screws at this time.

Make sure the forward thrust levers are in the idle position.

Attach the protractor adapter and the bubble protractor to the applicable reverse thrust lever.

Adjust the switch:
(a)
Move the switch on the mounting screws.
(b)
Partly tighten the two screws to hold the switch in place.
(c)
AIRPLANES PRE-SB 747-27A2356; Make sure the switch engages between 2 and 8 degrees of reverse thrust lever travel from the idle stow position.

AIRPLANES POST-SB 747-27A2356; Make sure the switch engages between 10 and 14 degrees of reverse thrust lever travel from the idle stow position.
(e)
If the switch does not engage at the correct angle, repeat the above steps. If repeated attempts fail to properly position the switch, adjust the switch by doing the following: 1) Remove the two screws and the switch from the thrust lever. 2) Bend the switch actuator arm to adjust the switch.
