THRUST REVERSER FLOW CONTROL TEE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General

A. This procedure has four tasks.
(1)
Remove the extend flow control tee.
(2)
Remove the retract flow control tee.
(3)
Install the extend flow control tee.
(4)
Install the retract flow control tee.
B.
SB 747-78A2128 changed the thrust reverser flow control tees. The flow control tees without the one-way valve restrictor cannot prevent the build up of back pressure to the deploy side of the locking actuator if more than one actuator has leaking internal seals. The new flow control tee configuration is in Thrust Reverser Flow Control Tee - Airplanes with one-way valve restrictors AMM 78-34-02/401.
C.
The flow control tee for the thrust reverser is attached to the directional control valve, which is on the strut. You must remove the strut forward fairings for access.
