2) Connect the hydraulic service cart to the flex hose for the retract line.
WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE
THRUST REVERSER BEFORE THE THRUST REVERSER OPERATION.
WITH THE HYDRAULIC POWER SUPPLIED, THE DEPLOYED
THRUST REVERSER WILL RETRACT WHEN THE ELECTRICAL
POWER IS SUPPLIED TO THE ISOLATION VALVE. INJURY TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
3) Operate the hydraulic service cart to supply 1800 to 3000 psi hydraulic pressure.
NOTE: The thrust reverser sleeve will retract and lock.
____ Do not decrease the hydraulic pressure.
4) Install the flex shafts.
5) While you hold the hydraulic pressure on the retract side, install the flex shaft to the non-locking hydraulic actuator.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE FLEX SHAFT, DO NOT TWIST MORE THAN
_______ 1/16 OF A TURN, CLOCKWISE OR COUNTERCLOCKWISE, TO ENGAGE THE SPLINES. IF YOU TWIST IT TOO MUCH, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLEX SHAFT.
(c)
Remove the dust cap from the drive port for the extend hydraulic line.
(d)
Move the tube nut for the flex shaft (6 or 2) back until you can see the splined flex shaft (Fig. 403 or 404).
(e)
Install the splined end of the flex shaft into the drive port.
(f)
Engage one or two threads of the tube nut (6 or 2) (Fig. 403 or 404).
(g)
Put the flex shaft tube in the support blocks for the hydraulic tubes. 1) Tighten the fasteners to attach the flex shaft tube.

(h)
Loosen and move back the tube nuts (6 or 2) to make sure the splined end of the flex shaft is engaged in the hydraulic actuator (Fig. 403 or 404).
(i)
Tighten the tube nut (1 or 6) to 30-35 pound-feet (48-55 newton-meters).

(14) Remove the hydraulic pressure after the installation of the flex shaft.
(a) If the airplane hydraulic power was used, do the steps that follow: 1) For the applicable engine, open this circuit breaker and
attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags: a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel

in the ground deactivation position. 5) Install the hitch pin in the streamered pin. 6) Connect the electrical connector, D4180 and D4182, for the
engine strut.
(b) If the hydraulic service cart was used, do the steps that follow: 1) Operate the hydraulic service cart to decrease the pressure
to zero. 2) Disconnect the hydraulic service cart from the retract line flex hose. 3) Install the retract line flex hose to the strut hydraulic connection.
