 (3)  Make sure the reverse thrust levers are in the forward and down (stow) position.
 (a)  Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag to the thrust levers.

 WARNING: DO THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE OPERATION OF THE
_______ THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  
Do the deactivation procedure for thrust reverser for ground maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (5)  
Remove the applicable forward fairing panels.

 S 214-019-N00

 (6)  
Make sure the forward fairing panel is not damaged.

 D.  
Remove the Directional Control Valve for the Thrust Reverser (Fig. 401 and 401A).

 (1) Disconnect the electrical connector on the aft face of the DCV (2).
 (a)  Install the protection covers on the electrical connectors.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. CATCH THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IN A CONTAINER. QUICKLY CLEAN THE HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT FALLS ON THE ENGINE OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
 (2)  
Disconnect the hydraulic pressure line from the DCV (2).

 (3)  
Disconnect the hydraulic return line from the DCV (2).

 S 024-023-N00

 (4)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT ONE-WAY VALVE RESTRICTORS; remove the DCV (2) and extend flow control tee (1) from the strut (Fig. 401).

 (a)  
Loosen the clamp for the hydraulic extend and retract lines.

 (b)  
Disconnect the retract flow control tee (4) from the lower forward face of the DCV (2) (AMM 78-34-02/401).

 (c)  
Disconnect the two hydraulic lines (5) from the extend flow control tee (1).
