WARNING:_______ DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).
S 014-005-N00
(2)
Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).
S 864-006-N00
(3)
Operate the thrust reverser manually to move the applicable thrust reverser sleeve rearward about one inch (AMM 78-31-00/201).
S 684-039-N00
CAUTION:_______BE PREPARED TO CATCH THE HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT DRAINS. QUICKLY CLEAN THE HYDRAULIC FLUID THAT FALLS. THE HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND AIRPLANE.
(4) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the actuator system on the applicable thrust reverser half.
(a) Loosen the coupling for the extend line flex hose at the strut hydraulic connection.
NOTE: This is done to let air into the actuator system at a
____ high point to drain the hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Remove the sync lock from the lower hydraulic actuator (AMM 78-34-13/401).
(c)
Remove the extend port cap from the upper non-locking hydraulic actuator. 1) Let the hydraulic fluid drain into the applicable
container.

(d)
Install the extend port cap on the upper non-locking hydraulic actuator.
(e)
Tighten the couplings for the extend line flexhose at the hydraulic connections on the strut to 30-35 pound-inches (3.389-3.954 newton-meters).
S 034-013-N00
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WITH THE FLEX SHAFTS AND THE TUBING TO PREVENT
_______ DAMAGE TO THE FLEX SHAFTS. DO NOT LET THE FLEX SHAFT COME OUT OF THE TUBING. DO NOT LET DIRT OR OTHER CONTAMINATION GET ON THE FLEX SHAFTS.
(5) Disconnect the tube nuts for the flex shaft from the actuators.
(a) Move the tube nuts rearward to get access to the flex shafts.
S 034-014-N00
(6)
Remove the bolts and the clamps which attach the flex shaft tubing to the support structures.
