A. If the test gives the maintenance message MMR2(40RT2):
- on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the maintenance message class number to get access to the trouble shooting data and read the related fault code.
- make a record of the fault code.
NOTE : Use only the second and third digits of the fault code(s).
____
(1) If the trouble shooting data give the fault code XA7X or XA8X:
- remove the MMR2 (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-002)
- remove the GPS antenna 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-16-000-001)
- make sure that there is no moisture and/or corrosion on the coaxial cable of the GPS antenna 2
- if you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 517400 P.Block001) for types, inspection, removal and corrosion protection
- make sure that there is continuity on the coaxial cable of the GPS antenna 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-003)
- replace the coaxial cable if necessary
- make sure that there is discontinuity between the core and shield of the coaxial cable of the GPS antenna 2
- repair if necessary.
(a) If the fault stops:
- install the MMR2 (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-002)
- install the GPS antenna 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-16-400-001).
(b) If the fault continues:
- install a new ANTENNA-GPS ACTIVE, 2 (43RT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-16-400-001) ANTENNA-GPS ACTIVE, 2
- install the MMR2 (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-002).
(2) If the trouble shooting data do not give the fault code XA7X or XA8X:
- replace the MMR-2 (40RT2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-36-31-400-002).
