R A. Installation of the Pressure Tubes and Hoses
R (1) Remove the protective covers from the union on the anti-ice valve,
R the union on the pneumatic duct, the elbow on the fireshield, and all
R hoses and tubes.
R NOTE : Do not torque the tube fittings or the bolts and nuts that____
R attach the clamps until all of the tubes and hoses have been
R installed and the routing on the engine is correct.
R (2) Install the upper muscle pressure tube (55).
R (a) Connect the upper muscle tube (55) to the union (50) on the
R pneumatic duct and the elbow (75) on the fireshield. Do not
R torque the coupling nut (90).
R (b) Install the clamp (95) to the upper muscle tube (55). Attach the
R clamp (95) to the bracket (85) with the bolt (105), the washer
R (100) and the nut (80).
R NOTE : Do not bend the tube (70) ends to make it fit. A bend will____
R make the tube weak. If the tube is weak, it can fail.
R (3) Install the aft muscle pressure tube (70).
R (a) Connect the aft muscle tube (70) to the elbow (75) on the
R fireshield. Do not torque the coupling nut.
R (b) Put the two clamps (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the
R clamps to the engine-tubes fairlead brackets (two locations). Use
R the bolts (25), the washers (30), and nuts (35).
R (c) Put a clamp (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the clamp
R (45) and the clamp (65) (on the drain tube) to the bracket at
R engine flange STA 199 with the bolt (25) and the nut (35).
R (d) Put a clamp (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the clamp
R (45) to the bracket at engine flange STA 199 with the bolt (60)
R and the nut (35).

R (4) Install the forward muscle pressure tube (20).
R (a) Loosely install the forward muscle tube (20) on the forward
R anti-ice duct support bracket with the bulkhead nut (10) and the
R washer (15).
R (b) Put two clamps (45) on the forward muscle tube (20). Attach the
R clamps to the anti-ice duct tangs with the bolts (25), the
R washers (30), and the nuts (35).
R (5) Connect the hose (5) to the aft muscle tube (70) and the forward
R muscle tube (20). Do not torque the coupling nuts.
R (6) Connect the forward hose (40) to the forward muscle pressure tube
R (20) and to the union on the anti-ice valve (4000DN).
R (7) Make sure that all of the tubes and hoses are correctly installed on
R the engine.
R (8) TORQUE the nuts (35) to between 20 and 25 lbf.in (0.22 and 0.28
R m.daN).
R (9) TORQUE the hose coupling nut (90) to between 135 and 150 lbf.in (1.52
R and 1.69 m.daN).
R NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the union on the pneumatic duct____
R and the elbow on the fireshield when you torque the hose
R coupling nut (90).
R (10) TORQUE the muscle tube (70) coupling nut at the fireshield fitting to
R between 135 and 150 lbf.in (1.52 and 1.69 m.daN).
R NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the elbow on the fireshield when____
R you torque the tube (70) coupling nut.
R (11) TORQUE the bulkhead nut (10) on the muscle tube (20) to between 110
R and 120 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.35 m.daN).
R NOTE : Hold the muscle tube (20) fitting with a second wrench when____
R you torque the bulkhead nut (10).
R (12) TORQUE the hose (5) coupling nuts to between 135 and 150 lbf.in (1.52
R and 1.69 m.daN).
R NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the fittings on the forward and____
