Hold the telescopic duct in the retracted position with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

Hold the telescopic duct assembly and remove the clamp (1).
(5)
Put blanking caps on the open ends of the telescopic duct and the D-nose duct.
(6)
To remove the telescopic duct from the D-nose, do these steps:
(a)
Remove and discard the cotter pins (21). Remove the slotted nuts
(22) and the washers (23).
(b)
Remove the bolts (18) and the washers (19).
(c)
Remove the telescopic duct from the D-nose.
(7)
If you are to install a new telescopic duct, do these steps:
(a)
Release the tab washers (16).
(b)
Remove the bolts (17). Remove and discard the tabwashers (16).
(c)
Remove the half clamps (14) and (15).
(d)
Keep the half clamps (14) and (15) together so you can install them on the replacement duct.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure the warning notices are in these positions, before you do work on the ice protection system: - on the high-pressure ground-power connections, to tell persons not
to pressurize the pneumatic system
-in the cockpit, to tell persons not to operate the engines or the APU control switches - on the panel 50VU, to tell persons not to pressurize the bleed-air system
- on the panel 115VU, to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
(2) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
