4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Anti-Ice Ducts
NOTE : Put blanking caps on the ends of the ducts, immediately after you
____
remove them.
(1)
To remove the duct (24):
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 30-11-42-991-001)
(a)
Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (1) and then remove the insulation muff (1).
(b)
Remove the nut (25), the screw (28) and the washer (26), to disconnect the ends of the bonding straps (27) and (23).
(c)
Hold the duct (24) and remove the clamp (22).
(d)
Turn the duct (24) axially in relation to the anti-ice valve and carefully remove it from the duct (3).
(e)
Remove and discard the seal (2).
(2)
To remove the duct (3): (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 30-11-42-991-001, 402/TASK 30-11-42-991-002)
(a)
Remove the duct (24) as given before.
(b)
Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (9) and then remove the insulation muff (9).
(c)
Remove the nut (13), the screw (18) and the washers (17) and (14), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (16).
(d)
Remove the nut (15), the screw (21), the washer (19) and the bonding strap (20).
(e)
Remove the nut (12), the bolt (10) and the cradle (4).
(f)
Remove the bolts (5) and (11), the washers (6) and the cradle (7).
(g)
Move the blast tube (8) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (3).
(h)
Carefully remove the duct (3) together with the blast tube (8) from the duct (37).
(i)
Remove and discard the seal (36).
(j)
Remove the blast tube (8) from the duct (3).
(3)
To remove the duct (37): (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 30-11-42-991-001, 402/TASK 30-11-42-991-002)
(a)
Remove the duct (24) as given before.
(b)
Remove and discard the braided wires from the insulation muffs
(9) and (46) and then remove the insulation muffs (9) and (46).
(c)
Remove the nut (12), the bolt (10) and the cradle (4).
(d)
Remove the bolts (5) and (11), the washers (6) and the cradle (7).
(e)
Move the blast tube (8) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (3).
(f)
Move the duct (3) inboard to give a clearance between the ends of the ducts (3) and (37).
(g)
Remove the nut (39), the screw (42) and the washer (40), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (41).
(h)
Remove the nut (43), the screw (45), the washer (44) and the bonding strap (35).
(i)
To remove the lower part of the intermediate rib:
-
remove the nuts (60), (70) and (79), the bolts (61), (80) and
(81) and the bracket (63)
-
remove the nuts (64), the bolts (68), the support washer (69) and the top bracket (67)
-
remove the nuts (77), the bolts (71), the lower bracket (72) and the support bracket (78)
-
remove the nuts (74) and (66), the bolts (65) and (76) and the center rib (73) from the rib supports (62) and (75).
(j)
Remove the duct (37).
(k)
Remove and discard the seal (38)
(4)
To remove the duct (52): (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 30-11-42-991-001, 402/TASK 30-11-42-991-002, 403/TASK 30-11-42-991-003)
(a)
Remove the duct (24) as given before.
(b)
Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (9) and then remove the insulation muff (9).
(c)
Remove the nut (12), the bolt (10) and the cradle (4).
(d)
Remove the bolts (5) and (11), the washers (6) and the cradle (7).
(e)
Move the blast tube (8) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (3).
(f)
Remove and discard the braided wires from the insulation muffs
(46) and (93) and then remove the insulation muffs (46) and (93).
(g)
Remove the nut (54), the screw (50) and the washer (51), to disconnect the end of the bonding strap (41).
(h)
Remove the nut (58), the bolt (56) and the cradle (57).
(i)
Remove the bolts (47) and (59), the washers (48) and the cradle (49).
(j)
Move the blast tube (55) inboard, to the approximate center of the duct (37).
(k)
Move the ducts (3) and (37) inboard, to give a clearance between the ends of the ducts (37) and (52).
