4. Procedure

Subtask 25-21-41-560-050
A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that all placards of the retained/new components are in the correct position and in good condition.
(4)
If necessary install new placards. Refer to (Ref. TASK 11-00-00-400-007), (Ref. AMM 11-32-25 P.Block 001) and (Ref. AIPC 113252).
(5)
Make sure that the seat tracks are clean and in the correct condition.
(6)
Make sure that the studs are correctly installed in the front legs of the seat assembly. (Ref. Fig. 403/TASK 25-21-41-991-017)

B. Installation of the Passenger Seats
(Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 25-21-41-991-006-D)
(1)
Put the seat assembly (1) in position on the seat tracks.
(2)
Make sure that the track fittings (5) and the front studs (3) are correctly engaged in the seat tracks.
(3)
Move the seat assembly (1) forward or rearward to align with the marks on the seat tracks.

(4) Torque the screws.
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO PLAY BETWEEN THE SEATLOCKS AND
_______ THE SEAT TRACKS. IF THE SEAT BECOMES LOOSE, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PASSENGERS OR DAMAGE TO THE SEAT.
(a)
TORQUE the screws (6) to between 24 and 26 lbf.in (0.27 and 0.29 m.daN).
(b)
If a lock-spring is installed, make sure that it is correctly engaged with the screw (6) and the track fitting (5).
(5) Torque the anti-rattle nuts.
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE STOP WASHER IN THE CORRECT
_______ POSITION IN THE SEAT TRACK. THE LUG ON THE STOP WASHER MUST BE IN THE AFT DIRECTION. IF THE LUG IS IN THE FORWARD DIRECTION:
-
THE RESISTANCE OF THE SEAT TO G-FORCE WILL NOT AGREE WITH THE SPECIFIED G-FORCE STANDARD
-
THE SEAT CAN BECOME LOOSE IF A HIGH G-FORCE OCCURS.
(a)
If a stop washer (8) is installed, make sure that the lug of the stop washer is in the aft direction.
(b)
Use a WRENCH - GROOVE NUT and TORQUE the anti-rattle nuts (2) to the seat tracks to between 76.5 and 93.5 lbf.in (0.86 and 1.05 m.daN).

Put the seat assembly (1) in position on the seat tracks.
(2)
