3.3.14 Close the following circuit breaker on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
3.3.15 Press the MIDU MENU key and verify that the <ACMS menu options is displayed
adjacent to LSK 2L.
Note: It may take several minutes for the ACMS systems to initialize communication with
the MIDU.
3.4 QAR Ground Test
3.4.1 Insure that the following circuit breakers on the P11 panel is closed:
J34 ACMS S19 AIR/GND SYS 2
3.4.2 Locate the Quick Access Recorder, M90001 on the E3-3 shelf and make sure the POWER
ON light on the front of the QAR is on.
3.4.3 Make sure that an optical disk is installed in the QAR and the FAIL and LOW CAPACITY
indicators are not illuminated.

3.4.4 Push the EXIT switch on the QAR and make sure OPERATOR shows on the QAR lower
display.
3.4.5 Push the ENTER switch on the QAR and verify that the following information is shown in
the lower display:
A- R? Q? (where ? is a character)

3.4.6 Prepare the safety-sensitive systems for air mode simulation (AMM 32-09-02/201).
3.4.7 Open the following circuit breaker on the P11 panel:
S19 AIR/GND SYS 2
3.4.8 Verify that the following information is shown in the lower display:
A* R? Q? (where ? is a character)
NOTE: AE or A- may show momentarily while the QAR finds the correct data rate.

3.4.9 Close the following circuit breaker on the P11 panel:
S19 AIR/GND SYS 2
3.4.10 Put the safety-sensitive systems back to their initial conditions (AMM 32-09-02/201).
3.4.11 From the ACMS main menu, press LSK 3L to select the <DAR RECRDNG menu option
and verify that the screen is displayed as shown in Figure 3-4-1.
3.4.12 From the DAR RECORDING menu press LSK 1L adjacent to *MANUAL START and
verify that the DAR = STOPPED changes to DAR = Running and the following information is
shown in the lower display of the QAR.

3.4.13 Press LSK 1R, adjacent to the DISPLAY> menu option and verify that the screen is
displayed as shown in Figure 3-4-2.

3.4.15 Press LSK 6L, adjacent to the <RETURN menu option to return to the DAR RECORDING
menu.
3.4.16 From the DAR RECORDING menu press LSK 1L adjacent to *MANUAL STOP and
verify that the DAR = RUNNING changes to DAR = STOPPED.

3.4.17 Remove the optical disk and process the contents to verify the 128 word per second data
frame was recorded.

3.4.18 Conduct any additional tests deemed necessary.
3.4.19 Remove electrical power if it is no longer necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
