6. Within 3 seconds after the “PRESS TO CONTINUE” message is enunciated, press the
GPWS test switch for less than 2 seconds. (This will start Level 6 Self Test.)
7. The EGPWC will enunciate “DISCRETE INPUT TEST PRESS TO CANCEL “. The EGPWC is
now at the Level 6 Self Test.
NOTE: The words “DISCRETE INPUT TEST PRESS TO CANCEL” will be enunciated
approximately every 60 seconds throughout this test.
8. VERIFY the correct audio message is enunciated as each discrete is set as shown in
the following table:
NOTE: Each discrete must be changed to be set to the value listed below (i.e. when
setting (or simulating) Flaps in Landing Position, the Flaps must start in the
UP position).

9. Press the GPWS test switch for less than 2 seconds (to exit Level 6 Self Test).
10. VERIFY the GND PROX BITE or GND FROX SYS message, annunciated on the EICAS system
display, and the Terrain INOP light turns off.

11. End of Self Test Level 6 Test.
6.3 Secondary Input Interface Test
This section verifies the redundant inputs to the EGPWC are wired correctly.
NOTE: This test requires prior completion of a level 2 self-test. (See Section 6.2.4)
Test Procedure:
1. Pull the following circuit breakers:
a) ADC #1
b) ILS #1
c) EFIS Control Panel #1
d) LRRA #1 (Left Radio Altimeter)
e) LRRA #2 (Right Radio Altimeter)
f) FMC #1
2. Turn the IRS #1 selector to OFF and wait one minute.
3. Perform a level 2 self test.
Initiate the EGPWS self test (level 1) and release the GPWS test switch. Once the
level 1 self test audio sequence begins, press and hold the GPWS test switch for less
than 2 seconds. This will start self-test level 2.
4. VERIFY the following messages are annunciated (note order of messages is not
important):

a) CURRENT FAULTS:
b) GPWS COMPUTER OK
c) EXTERNAL FAULTS
d) AIR DATA BUS 1 INACTIVE
e) ILS BUS 1 INACTIVE
f) IRS BUS 1 INACTIVE
g) EFIS BUS 1 INACTIVE
h) RADIO ALTIMETER BUS 1 INACTIVE or LEFT RADIO ALTIMETER BUS INACTIVE
i) RADIO ALTIMETER BUS 2 INACTIVE or CENTER RADIO ALTIMETER BUS INACTIVE
j) FMC BUS 1 INACTIVE
k) “PRESS TO CONTINUE”
PASS FAIL
5. Restore the following circuit breakers:
a) ADC #1
b) ILS #1
c) EFIS Control Panel #1
d) LRRA #1
e) LRRA #2
f) FMC #1
6. Turn the IRS #1 mode selector to NAV and wait until the IRS is aligned.
7. Perform a level 2 self test.
