This procedure is an operational test of the FDAMS and CMU control and display functionality
with
the MIDU or MCDU and Data Printer.

2. Insure the following circuit breaker on the P11 panel are closed:
Group I & II

G6 MIDU

3. Verify that the <ACARS and <ACMS menu options appear on the MIDU or MCDU main
menu.
Note: It may take several minutes for the applicable systems to initialize communication
with the MIDU.
4. From the MCDU main menu, select the <ACARS menu option to access the main ACARS
menu.
5. From the main ACARS MENU, select the <MISC menu option; from the ACARS MISC menu,
select the MAINT> menu option; from the ACARS MAINTENANCE menu, select the
<STATUS menu option; and from the ACARS STATUS menu, select the <LRU menu option.
6. Verify from the ACARS LRU STATUS menu that the PRINTER LRU field displays ACTIVE.
7. Return to the ACARS MAINTENANCE menu and select the <TEST menu option.
8. From the ACARS TEST 1/2 screen, select the PRINTER <INITIATE option.
9. Verify that the <INITIATE text changes to TEST momentarily, then changes to <PASS for
approximately 5 seconds and then changes back to <INITIATE and that the printer outputs a
fixed test message.
10. On the MIDU or MCDU keypad press the MENU key to display the MCDU main menu.
11. From the MCDU main menu select the <ACMS menu option.

12. On the ACMS Main Menu select the SPECIAL FUNCT / <REPROGRAMMING menu
option.
13. On the SPECIAL FUNCT / <REPROGRAMMING menu select the ACMS
INFORMATION>
menu option, and on the DFDAU / ACMS LOADABLE SOFTWARE PART NUMBERS menu
verify that the ACMS part number data fields are properly displayed.
14. On the DFDAU / ACMS LOADABLE SOFTWARE PART NUMBERS menu verify that and
asterisk .*. is displayed to the right of the PRINT* menu option.
15. Select the PRINT* menu option and verify that the printout from the Data Printer matches the
display.
16. Return the aircraft to the normal configuration.

1.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide the instructions and procedures necessary to insure
proper operation of a Honeywell Flight Data Acquisition Management System (FDAMS) control,
display and data output to the Multi-Input Interactive Display Unit (MIDU), PTA-45B Data
Printer, and the Penny and Giles optical Quick Access Recorder (QAR). The Honeywell FDAMS
unit consists of a Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit (DFDAU) and an Aircraft Condition
Monitoring System (ACMS) in a single 6 MCU box. This document provides procedures that will
verify the proper communication between the ACMS and MIDU, Data Printer and QAR. These
procedures have been defined to support a revision to the Honeywell Supplemental Type
Certification ST00939SE and are not required for subsequent installations using the STC.
2.0 GENERAL
The procedures in this document assume that a complete installation checkout has been
accomplished per Honeywell Engineering Order 756-0074-106. It is also assumed that the
person(s) performing the test has a working knowledge of the FDAMS ACMS as installed in this
aircraft. It is up to the discretion of the person(s) performing the tests as to what order is the most
logical to perform the tests. Procedures contained in the aircraft maintenance manual may be
substituted for any portion of this document, as appropriate.
