one second.

(2) After the level 1 self-test starts, push the GPWS SYS TEST switch on the ground
proximity warning module for one second to go to the level 2 self-test. Verify the
following messages are enunciated:
(a) “CURRENT FAULTS”
(b) “NO FAULTS”
(c) “PRESS TO CONTINUE”
NOTE: If EGPWS Computer or System faults exist, the fault(s) will be enunciated as
GPWS internal faults and/or GPWS external faults. The aural message will

provide a description of the fault(s).
(3) Open these circuit breakers:
(a) AIR DATA CMPTR-1
(b) AIR DATA CMPTR-2
(c) RAD ALTM-1
(d) RAD ALTM-2
(e) DAA NO. 1 FMC
(f) DAA NO. 1 FMC AC
(g) DAA NO. 1 IRS AC
(h) DAA NO. 1 IRS DC
(i) DAA NO. 2 FMC
(j) DAA NO. 2 FMC AC
(k) DAA NO. 2 IRS DC
(l) DAA NO. 2 IRS AC
(4) Turn the IRS #1 and IRS # 2 to OFF and wait for one minute.
(5) Verify the following messages are annunciated
NOTE: Order of the messages may be varied.
(a) CURRENT FAULTS
(b) GPWS COMPUTER OK
(c) EXTENAL FAULTS
(d) IRS BUS 1 INACTIVE
(e) IRS BUS 2 INACTIVE
(f) AIR DATA BUS 1 INACTIVE
(g) AIR DATA BUS 2 INACTIVE
(h) DAA BUS 1 INACTIVE
(i) DAA BUS 2 INACTIVE
(j) RADIO ALTIMETER BUS 1 INACTIVE
(k) RADIO ALTIMETER BUS 2 INACTIVE
(6) Restore the circuit breakers opened in the previous step:
(7) Set the left and right IRS mode select switches to the NAV position, align the left and
right IRS.
(8) Perform the Self Test Level 2.
(10) Verify the following messages are annunciated:
(a) “CURRENT FAULTS”
(b) “NO FAULTS”
(c) “PRESS TO CONTINUE”
F. System Configuration Test (Self Test Level 3)
NOTE: Level 3 test must be performed immediately following Level 2 test. Thus, the test
steps listed below start with Level 1 Self Test and step to Level 2 Self Test.
NOTE: The Terrain INOP light and GPWS INOP light will illuminate throughout this test.

(1) Initiate the Level 1 Self Test and release the EGPWS test switch. Once the Level 1
Self Test audio Sequence begins, press the EGPWS test switch for one second (this
will start Self Test Level 2 ). Within 3 seconds after the “PRESS TO CONTINEU”
message is enunciated at the end of the Self Test Level 2, press the EGPWS test
switch for one second, verify the following messages are enunciated:

(a) “SYSTEM CONFIGURATION”
(b) “PART NUMBER 965-0976-020-XXX-XXX”
(c) “MOD STATUS XX”
(d) “SERIAL NUMBER XXXXXX”

(h) “ENVELOPE MOD DATABASE VERSION X…”

(k) “AUDIO MENU 0”
(l) “ALTITUDE CALLOUT MENU 18”
(m) “LAMP FORMAT 2 SELECTED”

G. Discrete Input Test (Self Test Level 6)
NOTE: To get the Level 6 test, the operator must cycle through Self Test Level 1 through
5.The following steps shows the procedure to get to the Level 6 Test.
NOTE: The Terrain INOP light and GPWS INOP light will illuminate throughout this test.

(1) Do these steps to do a level 6 self-test:
(a) Push the GPWS SYS TEST switch on the ground proximity warning module (P3-7)
for one second.
(b) After the level 1 self-test starts, push the GPWS SYS TEST switch on the ground
proximity warning module for one second to go to the level 2 self-test.
(c) After the level 2 self-test starts, push the GPWS SYS TEST switch on the ground
proximity warning module for one second to go to the level 3 self-test.
(d) After the level 3 self-test starts, push the GPWS SYS TEST switch on the ground
proximity warning module for one second to go to the level 4 self-test.
