14. Open this circuit breaker and attach a .DO NOT CLOSE. tag on the P6 panel:
C2, FUEL COND CONT R
15. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP goes off.
16. Open this circuit breaker and attach a .DO NOT CLOSE. tag on the P11 panel:
D20, ENGINE START CONT RIGHT
4.5 BITE Test
1. Set the function switch on the FRCP in the ON position. Make sure the OFF light on the FRCP
is off.
2. At the main equipment center, make sure the DFDR and the DFDAU lamps on the FDAMS unit
are off.
3. Toggle the BITE/S/WPN switch on the FDAMS unit to the Right position.
4. Make sure the DFDAU, DFDR and ACMS lamps come on temporarily.
5. Make sure all 8 character display segments come on.
6. Toggle switch to the left within 5 seconds.
7. Make sure the display shows NO FAULT.
8. Set the function switch on the FRCP to the NORM position. Make sure the OFF light on the
FRCP is on.
4.6 EICAS Message Test
1. Open these circuit breakers and attach .DO NOT CLOSE. tags on the P11 panel:
K9, LEFT ENGINE OIL PRESS
K35, RIGHT ENGINE OIL PRESS
2. Make sure these circuit breakers are closed on the P11 panel:
D19, ENGINE START CONT LEFT
D20, ENGINE START CONT RIGHT
3. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close these circuit breakers on the P6 panel:
C1, FUEL COND CONT L
C2, FUEL COND CONT R
4. Set the function switch on the FRCP to the ON position.
5. Push the ECS MSG and AUTO EVENT switch on the EICAS MAINT panel on the right side
panel, P61.
6. Push the ERASE switch on the EICAS MAINT panel for one second.
7. Set the L and R FUEL CONT switches on the P10 panel to the RUN position and wait a
minimum of four minutes.
8. Set the COMPUTER switch on the EICAS DISPLAY select panel to the L position. Make sure
these EICAS messages, FLT DATA REC and FLT DATA ACQ, do not show on the bottom
display.
9. Set the COMPUTER switch on the EICAS DISPLAY select panel to the R position. Make sure
these EICAS message, FLT DATA REC and FLT DATA ACQ, do not show on the bottom
display.

10. Open these circuit breakers and attach .DO NOT CLOSE. tags on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8, FLIGHT RECORDER DC
11. Remove the flight data recorder (FDR) (AMM 31-31-01/401).
NOTE: Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before you do the next step.
12. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8, FLIGHT RECORDER DC
13. Set the COMPUTER switch on the EICAS DISPLAY select panel to the L position.
14. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA REC, shows on the bottom display.
15. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA AQC, does not show on the bottom display.
16. Set the COMPUTER switch on the EICAS DISPLAY select panel to the R position.
17. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA REC, shows on the bottom display.
18. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA AQC, does not show on the bottom display.
19. Open this circuit breaker and attach the .DO NOT CLOSE. tag on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
20. Remove the FDAMS unit (AMM 31-31-03/401).
21. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tag and close this circuit breaker on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
22. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA AQC, shows on the bottom display.
23. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA REC, does not show on the bottom display.
24. Set the COMPUTER switch on the EICAS DISPLAY select panel to the L position.
25. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA AQC, shows on the bottom display.
26. Make sure the EICAS message, FLT DATA REC, does not show on the bottom display.
27. Open these circuit breakers and attach the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8, FLIGHT RECORDED DC
28. Install the FDR (AMM 31-31-02/401).
29. Install the FDAMS unit (AMM 31-31-03/401).
30. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7, FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8, FLIGHT RECORDED DC
31. Return the L and R FUEL CONT SWITCHES to the CUTOFF position and set the FRCP to
the NORM position.
32. Remove the .DO NOT CLOSE. tags and close these circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
D7, ENGINES STBY IGNITION LEFT 1
D8, ENGINES STBY IGNITION LEFT 2
D9, ENGINES STBY IGNITION RIGHT 1
D10, ENGINES STBY IGNITION RIGHT 2
