If the proper software part numbers are verified skip the ACMS Database Load Procedure
(Section 3.6).
3.5 DFDAU Database Load Procedure
The proper FDAMS DFDAU database must be verified prior to performing any ground tests. The
following steps define the procedure for loading of the database if the proper database was not
verified in the previous steps. The data loader indications are based on a Honeywell PDL.
Differing indications may be observed with alternate data loaders. The load disks have been
created to verify the proper configuration of the Aircraft Type discretes and to confirm the aircraft

is in .ground.mode (determined by a logic one at the FDAMS binary port B37, LTP3H), prior to
loading. Confirm the proper configuration of these discretes if difficulty loading is encountered.
1. Open the following Circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8 FLIGHT RECORDER DC
2. Connect data loader to the FDAMS using FDAMS DFDAU PDL Interface cable assembly.
3. On front panel of the FDAMS DFDAU PDL Interface cable assembly, set the toggle switch to
the DFDAU position and turn the rotary selector switch to the DFDAU MANDATORY EE
ENABLE position.
4. Close the following Circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8 FLIGHT RECORDER DC
5. Insert diskette, part number 998-2512-503 into data loader.
RDY and PROG light will illuminate during the load process. RDY light will blink at
approximately 3 second intervals. Time to load the diskette is approximately 15 minutes, but
vary with data loader type.
6. Remove diskette when the COMP light on data loader illuminates.
7. Open the following Circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8 FLIGHT RECORDER DC
8. Turn the rotary selector switch on the FDAMS DFDAU PDL Interface cable to the DFDAU
NON-MANDATORY EE ENABLE position.
9. Close the following Circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8 FLIGHT RECORDER DC
10. Insert diskette, part number 998-3407-501 into data loader.
RDY and PROG light will illuminate during the load process. RDY light will blink at
approximately 3 second intervals. Time to load the diskette is approximately 8 minutes, but vary
with data loader type.
11. Remove the diskette when COMP light on data loader illuminates.
12. Open the following Circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
J7 FLIGHT RECORDER AC
J8 FLIGHT RECORDER DC
13. Disconnect the FDAMS DFDAU PDL Interface cable assembly and data loader from the
FDAMS.
14. Repeat section 3.4 (above) to verify the proper database was loaded.
3.6 ACMS Database Load Procedure
The proper FDAMS ACMS database must be verified prior to performing the Optical QAR
ground test. The following steps define the procedure for loading of the ACMS database if the
proper database was not verified above. The data loader indications are based on a Honeywell

6. Remove diskette when the COMP light on data loader illuminates.
7. Insert diskette, part number 998-3296-502 into data loader.
