(a) Push the self-test switch on the EGPWS for one second.

(b) After the level 1 self-test starts, push the self-test switch for one second to go to
the level 2 self-test.
(c) After the level 2 self-test starts, wait until the PRESS TO CONTINUE annunciation
occurs, then push the self-test switch for one second to go to the level 3 self-test.
(d) You will hear a sequence of the configuration annuciations for the GPWS over the
headphone.
1) Make sure you hear the terrain database part number after the TERRAIN
DATABASE VERSION annunciation.
NOTE: There are several configuration annunciations in the level 3 self-test.
To advance to the terrain database part number annunciation, you
need to push the self-test switch after each annunciation.
(e) Record the terrain database part number.
(f) After you hear the terrain database part number, continue to push the self-test
switch until you hear the PRESS TO CONTINUE annunciation.
NOTE: After the PRESS TO CONTINUE annunciates, the level 3 self-test is
complete. If you do not push the self-test switch again, the self-test
sequence will stop.
(g) If your airline maintains a terrain database version requirement, make sure the
terrain database version is correct.
1) If the terrain database version is not correct, then do this task: Load the
Terrain Database (AMM TASK 34-42, page CDF-201)

(5) Close the door on the front panel of the EGPWC.

EPGWS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. General
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task is an operational test of EGPWS (Enhanced
Ground Proximity Warning System). The second task is a system test of EGPWS.
B. The operational test makes sure that EGPWS operates correctly in a few minimums.
C. The system test increases the range of the operational test to make sure the system
operates correctly.

(3) Make sure that the aircraft is located on an unobstructed ramp position. For an initial
position of the EGPWS, allow up to 20 minutes for the system to come on line and to
acquire satellites. Verify the INOP light is not illuminated on the Terrain Display Control
panel.
D. Do the EGPWS Operational Test

(1) Do these steps to do a test of EGPWS:
(a) Set the Range switch on the Weather Radar Indicator to TEST position.
(b) Set WXR switches on the Weather Radar Indicator to STBY position.
(c) Make sure the terrain display is not selected.
(d) Press and hold the GND PROX switch on the GPWS test panel (P3-7) until the
“SINK RATE, PULL UP” message is enunciated.
(e) Make sure this sequence of visual and aural indications occurs:
1) The EGPWS INOP light on the P3-7 panel and Terrain INOP light on the P9
panel turn on and remain ON throughout this test.
2) GND PROX light turns on.
3) “GLIDESLOPE” message is enunciated.
4) GND PROX light turns off.
5) PULL UP light turns on.
6) “PULL UP” message is enunciated.
7) PULL UP light turns off.
8) PULL UP light turns on.
9) “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP “ message is enunciated.
10) PULL UP light turns off.
