3. Set both the Captain’s and F.O.’s EFIS Control Panel WXRIFERR switches to ON.
4. Ensure that the display mode for both the Captain’s and F.O.’s ND is suitable for
displaying weather (e.g. display mode not in PLAN, FULL VOR, or FULL ILS).
5. Ensure that the terrain display is not selected.
6. Initiate the EGPWS Self Test. Press AND hold the Self Test switch until the completion
of the Siren and “WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR” message is enunciated.
7. VERIFY the following sequence:
a) The GND PROX BITE or GND PROX SYS message will be annunciated on the EICAS system
display. The message may take up to 12 seconds to be annunciated on the bottom
display.
b) Terrain INOP light turns on.
c) GND PROX light turns on.
d) “GLIDESLOPE” message is enunciated.
e) GND PROX light turns off.
f) PULL UP light turns on.
g) “PULL UP” message is enunciated.
h) PULL UP light turns off.

i) WINDSHEAR light turns on and Red WINDSHEAR annunciation is displayed on the PFDs.
j) Siren and “WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR” message is enunciated.
k) WINDSHEAR light and Red WINDSHEAR annunciation turns off.
I) Release the Self Test Switch.
m) PULL UP light turns on.
n) “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” message is enunciated.
o) ON legend in the Terrain Display light/switches turn on and the Terrain Display
Self Test Pattern is displayed on the NDs.
p) PULL UP light turns off.
q) GND PROX light turns on.
r) GND PROX light turns off.
s) “SINK RATE” message is enunciated.
t) “PULL UP” message is enunciated.
u) “TERRAIN” message is enunciated.
v) “PULL UP” message is enunciated.
w) “DON’T SINK, DON’T SINK” message is enunciated.
x) “TOO LOW TERRAIN” message is enunciated.
y) “TOO LOW GEAR” message is enunciated.
z) “TOO LOW FLAPS” message is enunciated.
aa) “TOO LOW TERRAIN” message is enunciated.
bb) “GLIDESLOP
E” message is enunciated.
cc) “BANK ANGLE, BANK ANGLE” message is enunciated.
dd) “MINIMUMS” message is enunciated.
ee) “FIVE HUNDRED” message is enunciated.
ff) “ONE HUNDRED” message is enunciated.
gg) “FIFTY” message is enunciated.
hh) “FORTY” message is enunciated.

qq) “OBSTACLE OBSTACLE PULL UP” message is enunciated.
rr) ON legend in the Terrain Display light/switches turn off and Terrain Display Self
Test Pattern turns off after several sweeps of the terrain display.
ss) GND PROX BITE or GND PROX SYS message on the EICAS display and Terrain INOP light
turn off.
PASS FAIL
8. End of Self Test Level 1.
NOTE: If EGPWS Computer or System faults exist, the fault(s) will be enunciated as GPWS
internal faults and/or GPWS external faults. The aural message will provide a
description of the fault(s).
6.2.5 Self Test Level 2 - Current Faults
NOTE: The GND PROX BITE or GND PROX SYS message will be annunciated on the EICAS system display
and the Terrain INOP light will be illuminated throughout this test.
NOTE: Self Test Level 2 follows Self Test Level 1 such that Self Test Level 1 must be performed
to initiate Self Test Level 2.
Test Procedure:
1. Initiate the EGPWS Self Test (Level 1) and release the GPWS test switch. Once the
Level 1 Self Test audio sequence begins, press and hold the GPWS test switch for less
than 2 seconds (This will start Self Test Level 2).
2. VERIFY the following messages are enunciated:
a) “CURRENT FAULTS”
b) “NO FAULTS”
c) “PRESS TO CONTINUE”
PASS FAIL
3. End of Self Test Level 2.
