(2) Install the module:
(a) Connect the electrical connector to the module.
(b) Lightly push the module into the instrument panel.
(c) Tighten the fasteners that attach the module to the instrument panel.

(5) Do the Master Light Test and make sure that the module panel lights are on.

(6) Do the EGPWS discrete input test (Level 6 Test) to make sure the inhibit switches
operate correctly (AMM 34-42-00 page CDF-501).

EGPWS TERRAIN DISPLAY CONTROL PANEL –
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task removes the EGPWS Terrain Display Control
Panel. The second task installs the EGPWS Terrain Display Control Panel.

2. Remove the EGPWS Terrain Display Control Panel

(1) Open these circuit breakers on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P18, and attach
DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) 18A7 GND PROX WARN
(b) 18B7 TERR DSU

(2) Loosen the mounting screws on the control panel on the P9 panel.

(3) Move the control panel out.

(4) Disconnect the electrical connectors D9300 from the control panel.

(5) Remove the control panel.

(1) Make sure that these circuit breakers on the P18 panel are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE
tags attached:
(a) 18A7 GND PROX WARN
(b) 18B7 TERR DSU

(2) Connect the electrical connectors D9300 to the control panel.

(3) Install the control panel and tighten the mounting screws.

(4) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close the circuit breakers that follow on the P18
panel:
(a) 18A7 GND PROX WARN
(b) 18B7 TERR DSU

(5) Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(6) Do the Master Light Test and make sure that the control panel lights come on.

(7) Set the left and right IRS mode select switches to the NAV position and align the left
IRS and right IRS.

(8) Make sure that the aircraft is located on an unobstructed ramp position. For an initial
position of the EGPWS, allow up to 20 minutes for the system to come on line and to
acquire satellites. Verify the INOP light is not illuminated on the Terrain Display Control
panel.
WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE FUEL IS ADDED
OR REMOVED FROM THE AIRPLANE. DO NOT TRANSMIT RF
ENERGY WHILE FUEL IS ADDED OR REMOVED IN AREA 200 FEET
OR LESS OF THE ANTENNA. THIS CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
DO NOT OPERATE THE WEATHER RADAR WHILE THE AIRPLANE IS
IN A HANGAR OR OTHER ENCLOSURE. MAKE SURE NO PERSONS
ARE IN THE AREA 15 FEET OR LESS FROM THE ANTENNA WHEN IT
TRANSMITS RF ENERGY. RF ENERGY CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
PERSONS.
CAUTION: WHEN AN LRU FAILURE MESSAGE SHOWS, STOP THE WEATHER
RADAR SYSTEM TEST. IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE WEATHER RADAR,
THE RESULT WILL BE DAMAGE TO THE DEFECTIVE LRU OR OTHER
SYSTEM COMPONENTS.

(9) Set the Range switch on the WXR indicator to the TEST position.

(a) Set the range switch to 50 nautical miles
(b) Set the mode switch to the MAP position

(12) Set the TERR display switchlight on the Terrain Display control panel to the ON
position.
