system. When conducting these operations, the pilot-in-command must monitor the
appropriate ATC frequencies, and operate the flight in accordance with VFR stationreferenced
navigation requirements.
(5) Unless an IFR clearance is obtained en route, the pilot-in-command must operate the flight
with the VFR weather minimums of 5 kilometers (3 statute miles) flight visibility or, those
prescribed in Section 91.155 whichever are higher.
(6) The flight shall not be dispatched unless the ceiling and visibility specified in the weather
reports, forecasts, or any combination thereof, show that the flight can be conducted in
accordance with subparagraphs (3), (4), and (5) above.
(7) The flight shall not be dispatched, unless the appropriate navigation equipment is installed
and operational.

B0045 CLASS II NAVIGATION USING SINGLE LONG-RANGE NAVIGATION SYSTEM (S-LRNS)
The certificate holder shall conduct all Class II navigation operations using S-LRNS in accordance
with CCAR Section 121.351 or Section 135.169, as appropriate, and the provisions of this operations
specification paragraph.
a. The certificate holder is authorized to conduct Class II S-LRNS operations using the following
aircraft and S-LRNS.
SINGLE LONG-RANGE AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION SYSTEM
(M/M/S) MANUFACTURER MODEL
b. The certificate holder shall conduct all operations using a S-LRNS in accordance with the
following limitations and provisions:
(1) Unless specifically authorized elsewhere in these operations specifications, the certificate
holder shall not conduct Class II navigation operations within Central East Pacific and
Composite Airspace, North Pacific Airspace, North Atlantic Minimum Navigation Performance
Specifications (NAT/MNPS) Airspace, or Areas of Magnetic Unreliability. The S-LRNS shall
be operational as required by paragraph B0021 (NAT/MNPS) and B0023 (Areas of Magnetic
Unreliability), as applicable.
(2) If the aircraft is equipped with only a single long range communications system, the
requirements of operations specifications paragraph B0033, Extended Overwater Operations
Using a Single Long-Range Communication System, must be met.
(3) The certificate holder shall conduct all Class II S-LRNS operations so the aircraft is
continuously navigated to the degree of accuracy required for air traffic control. For areas
where these accuracy and navigation performance standards have not been formally
established, the long-range navigation system must be used to continuously navigate the
aircraft so that the crosstrack and/or the alongtrack errors will not exceed 25 nautical miles
(45 kilometers) at any point along the flight plan route specified in the ATC clearance.
(4) Prior to entering any airspace requiring the use of a LRNS, the aircraft position shall be
accurately fixed using airways navigation facilities or ATC radar. After exiting this airspace,
the aircraft position shall be accurately fixed and the long-range navigation system error shall
be determined and logged in accordance with the operator's approved procedures.
(5) A LRNS fix may substitute a required en route ground facility when that facility is temporarily
out of service, provided the approved navigation system has sufficient accuracy to navigate
the aircraft to the degree of accuracy required for ATC over that portion of the route.
(6) At dispatch, at least one of the navigation systems listed below must be installed and
operational:
