R (3) If the test is to be done with the nosewheels on the ground, do these
R steps:
R NOTE : You will need two 1.2 m (3.93 ft.) square steel plates.____
R (a) Position a steel plate in front of the nose wheels.
R (b) Apply a thick layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004) or
R COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) to the upper surface of the
R steel plate.
R NOTE : Do not mix Material No. 04-004 with Material No. 04-022.____
R You can use Material No. 04-022 as an alternative to
R Material No. 04-004. Clean and degrease the parts before
R you use Material No. 04-022.
R (c) Put the other steel plate on the top of the greased steel plate.
R (d) Move the aircraft and position the nose wheels on the greased
R steel plates (Ref. TASK 09-10-00-584-002).
R (4) If the test is to be done with the nose wheels clear of the ground do
R this:
R (a) Lift the nose gear (Ref. TASK 07-12-00-582-001).
R NOTE : Use only a compact axle jack to lift the nose gear.____
R (5) On the nose gear leg, on the electrical box, make sure that the
R towing lever is in the normal position (engaged position).
R (6) On the panel 400VU, make sure that the landing gear control lever is
R in the DOWN position.
R (7) On the panel 402VU, make sure that the ANTI SKID NOSE WHEEL switch is
R in the ON position.
R (8) Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
R (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
R (9) On the ECAM control panel, push the WHEEL pushbutton switch.
R (10) Make sure that the rudder pedals and the two nose-wheel steering
R handwheels are in the neutral position.
