Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-001).

On the panel 400VU:

make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
-
make sure that the warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
If necessary, use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the interfaces of the monitoring unit (11).
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Brake Temperature Monitoring Unit
(1) Put the brake temperature monitoring unit (11) in position on the bracket (2) and the location dowels (3).
NOTE : The monitoring unit (11) installs correctly in one position

only on the location dowels (3).
(2)
Install the monitoring unit (11) with the bolts (1), the washers (7) and the nuts (8).
(3)
TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 24 and 28 lbf.in (0.27 and 0.31 m.daN).
(4)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the bolts (1) and the nuts (8).

C. Electrical Bonding Resistance Test
(1) Use a Milliohmmeter Megger, Type BT51 to measure the bonding resistance between:
(a) The MLG forward pintle bearing and the brake temperature monitoring unit (11). The bonding resistance must be less than 20 milliohms.

D. Electrical Connection of the Brake Temperature Monitoring Unit
(1)
Remove the blanking caps from:
-
the brake temperature monitoring-unit (11) connector receptacle
-
the brake temperature sensor (5) connector receptacles
-
the electrical connectors (6) and (9).
(2)
Install the electrical connector (9) on the brake temperature monitoring-unit (11).
(3)
Install the electrical connectors (6) on the brake temperature sensors (5).
