5. SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY HISTORY AND ACTIVITIES
The company was founded in 1946 at Gross-Siegharts, Austria, by Ing. Fritz Fuchs. In 1955 TEST-FUCHS
started to design and manufacture test equipment.
In 1960 in conjunction with the rebirth of the German aviation industry, TEST-FUCHS began designing
ground support and test equipment for the aviation industry. This activity has continued to the present and
to the high technical standards required to parallel industry progress.
The equipment is also built for the motor industry together with design, development, qualification and
manufacture of cryogenic valves for the Ariane V, as well as aircraft fuel and lubricating pumps.
At present, the company activities include:
I) For Aircraft application
a) Design/Development and Manufacturing of
* Test Equipment for Fuel Components
* Test Equipment for Hydraulic Components
* Test Equipment for Pneumatic Components
* Test Equipment for Electrical Components
* Engine Test Stands
* Ground Power Units
* Small/Portable Test Equipment
All the test units are designed for manual, semiautomatic or fully automatic operation including
preparation, verification, administration and updating of the software.
b) Logistic Support including

* Technical documentation
* Installation and commissioning at customer’s premises
* Provision of spare parts
* Periodic maintenance and calibration
c) Manufacturing of sub-assemblies, like
* test cables, transformers, electrical machines, dynamic and static converters;
* printed circuit boards, digital instruments;
* precision angle gearboxes, actuators, high-speed power gears, torque measuring devices;
* valves, cartridges, test blocks, flow measuring turbines.
