Class Size: 15 Course Code: 201
Teaches procedures for evaluating and optimizing an airline’s engine
fleet in the areas of engine performance, test cell operations, onwing
health management, engine workscope and engine
maintenance and removal planning.
Module Performance Analysis Using MAPNET (4 Days)
Class Size: 15 Course Code: 203
Develops competency in implementing and using the Module
Analysis Program Network (MAPNET) program to accomplish
engine and module performance analysis and to plan corrective
action using engine test cell data.
Advanced Diagnostic and Engine Management
(ADEM) (5 Days)
Class Size: 12 Course Code: 222
Designed for personnel responsible for conducting on-wing engine
performance and health monitoring or those who have a Fleet
Management Program (FMP) or Engine Management Program
(EMP) contract with Pratt & Whitney. The primary ADEM tools and
features are identified, discussed and used to determine the cause
of engine faults and document analyses. Students will have the
ability to access their own ADEM fleet data to immediately apply
the topics learned in class. The course also emphasizes the
benefits of preventive maintenance and early fault detection.
Engine Design and Repair (5 Days)
Class Size: 15 Course Code: 209
Provides a general overview of the structural design and performance
features of Pratt & Whitney’s commercial gas turbine engines. The
course defines the relationship between these features and required
inspection and repair procedures. Additional topics include a review of
engine management using risk analysis and the application of the
failure analysis process. The experience is designed to enhance the
student’s skill level in the evaluation, repair and management process
for engine parts.
P&W EHM (Engine Health Monitoring) (5 Days )
Class Size: 12 Course Code: 210
Designed for personnel responsible for conducting engine
performance analysis using in-flight data and Pratt & Whitney’s
P&W EHM software program. Students will be able to perform
engine health-monitoring procedures, analyze the engine health
monitoring reports and apply the features of the P&W EHM
computer program. Students are encouraged to bring a copy of their
P&W EHM database to class to gain experience applying the EHM
program features to their own engine fleet. Students must be
employed by companies who have or are registered to receive
P&W EHM software.
Engine Condition Monitoring II (ECM II)/ECM (5 Days)
Class Size: 12 Course Code: 202
Develops competency in implementing and using the Pratt &
Whitney engine condition monitoring program (ECM II) to
accomplish on-wing engine performance analysis. This course is
intended for users who do not have P&W EHM software.
