D. Procedure
S 613-017
(1) Change the Oil
(a)
Open the access doors on the engine nacelle strut.
(b)
Remove the oil filler cap.
(c)
Put a container under the oil drain plug.
WARNING:_______DO NOT LET THE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN.
CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY CLEAN ALL OIL THAT FALLS ON ANY EQUIPMENT.
_______ OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PAINT AND SOME RUBBER PARTS.
(d) Do the steps which follow to drain the oil: 1) Remove the oil drain plug.

2) Discard the packing on the oil drain plug.
3) Clean the oil drain plug.
(e)
Do the steps which follow to remove the oil filter for the turbine drive: 1) Remove the filter cap, the packing, and the spring. 2) Remove the oil filter from the turbine drive gearbox. 3) Discard the oil filter and the packing. 4) Clean the filter cap and the spring.
(f)
Do the steps which follow to install the oil filter for the turbine drive: 1) Install the new oil filter and the spring in the oil filter
port. 2) Lubricate the packing and the threads on the filter cap
with oil.
3) Install the packing on the filter cap.
4) Install the filter cap.
5) Safety the filter cap with a lockwire.
(g)
Do these steps to install the drain plug: 1) Lubricate the packing and the threads on the oil drain plug
with oil. 2) Install the packing on the oil drain plug. 3) Install the oil drain plug in the turbine drive gearbox. 4) Safety the drain plug with a lockwire.
(h)
Add oil until the oil overflows the opening of the scupper.
(i)
Install the oil filler cap.
(j)
Do a leakage check of the oil filler cap, the filter cap, and the oil drain plug.
(k)
If you find leakage, repair the cause of it.
(l)
Close the access doors on the engine nacelle strut.
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT MIX OILS OF DIFFERENT BRAND NAMES. SOME OILS WILL
CHEMICALLY CHANGE WHEN YOU MIX THEM. THIS CAN CAUSE
DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
