TRUNNION SLEEVE

 

FORWARD EDGE OF THE INNER RACE.
CLEAN THE AREA AND APPLY A NEW LAYER OF CORROSION PREVENTIVE COMPOUND.

CLEAN THE AREA AND APPLY A NEW LAYER OF APPLY A CONTINUOUS FULL FILLET AT THE CORROSION PREVENTIVE COMPOUND. APPLY A THICK END OF THE TRUNNION SLEEVE. COAT (0.10 INCH MINIMUM) TO COMPLETELY SEAL
THE NUT, BOLT END, WASHER, AND THE ADJACENTCLEAN THE AREA AND APPLY A NEW LAYER OF SLEEVE SURFACES. DO NOT GET THE COMPOUND ON
CORROSION PREVENTIVE COMPOUND. APPLY A
THE BEAD OF GREASE AT THE FORWARD EDGE OF
THICK LAYER (0.10 INCH MINIMUM) TO THE FULL
THE INNER RACE.
INNER DIAMETER OF THE TRUNNION JOURNAL. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU APPLY A THICK LAYER TO

APPLY BMS 3-27 TO THE BOLT SHANK AND BOLT THE BOLT HEADS. MAKE THE COMPOUND SURFACE
THREADS. REMOVE THE UNWANTED BMS 3-27 WITH SMOOTH AND CONTINUE THE COMPOUND SURFACE
A CLEAN CLOTH BEFORE YOU APPLY MIL-C-11796. ON THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE TRUNNION SLEEVE.
DO THESE INTERNAL LUBRICATION POINTS ONLY WHEN YOU DO THE GEAR OVERHAUL OR DISASSEMBLY

2  BUSHINGS WITH PAINTED WITNESS LINE (OR EQUIVALENT IDENTIFICATION MARK), DO THESE STEPS:
1 POINT
.  LUBRICATE THE JOINT
.  APPLY BMS 3-23 OR BMS 3-26
COMPOUND, POINT THE SPRAY AROUND C
THE BUSHING FLANGE BETWEEN THE
BUSHING AND THE MATING LUG SURFACE.

.  LUBRICATE THE JOINT AGAIN TO REMOVE
ALL COMPOUND FROM THE JOINT.
