B. To lubricate the elevator hinge bearing, fill the bearing raceway with grease through a flush type fitting.
C. To get a better access to lubricate the flush fittings, turn the
elevators to a full up position.

Open the access panels (Ref 06-09-06/201).

Do this task if you will lubricate the outboard elevator hinge points:
(a)
Manually move the elevator to the full up position.
(b)
Hold the outboard elevator to the full up position.
(c)
Install the outboard elevator lock tool (Fig. 302).

(3) Do this task if you will lubricate the inboard elevator hinge points:
(a)
Install inboard elevator holding tool, 2TE65B00184 (Fig. 302).
(b)
Use the holding tool to move the elevator to the full up position.

(4) If a special grease gun is available, do these steps to lubricate the elevator hinges:
(a)
Remove the hinge covers (Fig. 301).
(b)
Lubricate the elevator hinges.

(5) If a special grease gun is not available, lubricate the elevator hinges with the standard grease gun:
(a)
Remove the hinge covers (Fig. 301).
(b)
Lubricate the elevator hinges.

(6) Do the following task to remove the outboard elevator lock tool:
(a)
Remove the elevator lock tool and manually hold the elevator in the up position.
(b)
Lower the elevator carefully.
