 S 013-047
 (3)  Open the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:
 (a)  While you hold the two APU access doors in the closed position, open the six latches on the right access door.
 NOTE: The left access door will open fully and the right
____ access door will drop approximately one inch (2.5 cm) from the fuselage frame when the last latch is opened.
 NOTE: A lanyard is attached to the aft end of the right access
____ door to hold the access door to the APU compartment bulkhead.
 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO MOVE THE TWO APU ACCESS DOORS TO THE
_______ OUTBOARD SIDE FROM THE FULL OPEN POSITION. THE FULL OPEN POSITION IS WHERE THE APU ACCESS DOOR IS DOWN AND THE TWO HOLD-OPEN RODS ARE CONNECTED TO THE TWO BRACKETS ON THE APU COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD. DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR CONTROL SURFACES CAN OCCUR.
 (b)  
Open the left access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (c)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.

 (d)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the left access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

 (e)  
Push the right access door up and remove the lanyard from the pin on the aft APU compartment bulkhead.

 (f)  
Open the right access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.

 (g)  
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (h)  
Connect the two hold-open rods from the right access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.


 D. Procedure

 CAUTION: DO NOT CHANGE THE OIL TO AEROSHELL/ROYCO TURBINE OIL 560 OR
_______ MOBIL JET OIL 254 UNLESS YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE CONDITIONS:
 -
A NEW APU IS INSTALLED WITH NO OIL IN THE APU OIL TANK

 -
A SERVICEABLE APU IS INSTALLED WITH NO OIL IN THE APU OIL


 TANK SINCE ITS LAST OVERHAUL. INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE APU ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  Do these steps to fill the APU oil tank with oil:

 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET HOT OIL GET ON YOU. MAKE SURE FIVE MINUTES HAVE GONE BY SINCE THE LAST APU SHUTDOWN TO LET THE OIL SYSTEM PRESSURE GO TO ZERO. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHES, GOGGLES, AND EQUIPMENT, OR LET THE APU BECOME COOL. IF YOU REMOVE THE OIL FILLER CAP AND THE OIL SYSTEM HAS PRESSURE, A SPRAY OF HOT OIL CAN BURN YOU.
 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET THE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN.
 CAUTION: DO NOT LET OIL GET ON THE APU OR OTHER COMPONENTS.
_______ IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE OIL WHEN IT FALLS ON THEM. OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PAINT AND RUBBER.
 (a)  
Lift and turn the handle on the oil filler cap (1) counterclockwise to release the cap.

 (b)  
Remove the oil filler cap (1).


 NOTE: A chain is attached from the inner APU oil tank to the
____ oil filler cap (1) to keep the oil filler cap with the APU.
 CAUTION: DO NOT MIX OILS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OR BRAND NAMES WHEN YOU
_______ ADD THE OIL IN THE APU OIL TANK. A MIXTURE OF SOME OILS WILL CHEMICALLY CHANGE AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE APU.
 (c)  Slowly add the oil to the APU oil tank until the oil level is at the center of the top sight glass.
 NOTE: The top sight glass is on the right side of the APU oil
____
 tank.

 (d)  
Before you install the oil filler cap (1) on the APU oil tank, put the chain in the inner APU oil tank until you cannot see the chain.

 (e)  
Install the oil filler cap (1) on the APU oil tank.

 (f)  
Turn the handle on the oil filler cap (1) clockwise and push it down to lock the cap into position.


 E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT


 (b)  
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT
