Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.
(d)
Connect the two hold-open rods from the left access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.
(e)
Push the right access door up and remove the lanyard from the pin on the aft APU compartment bulkhead.
(f)
Open the right access door to the fully open position and remove the two hold-open rods from the two clips.
(g)
Remove the two quick-release pins from the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.
(h)
Connect the two hold-open rods from the right access door to the two brackets and install the two quick-release pins.

WARNING:_______DO NOT LET HOT OIL GET ON YOU. MAKE SURE FIVE MINUTES HAVE GONE BY SINCE THE LAST APU SHUTDOWN TO LET THE OIL SYSTEM PRESSURE GO TO ZERO. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHES, GOGGLES, AND EQUIPMENT, OR LET THE APU BECOME COOL. IF YOU REMOVE THE OIL FILLER CAP AND THE OIL SYSTEM HAS PRESSURE, A SPRAY OF HOT OIL CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:_______DO NOT LET THE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET OIL GET ON THE APU OR OTHER COMPONENTS. IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE OIL WHEN IT FALLS ON THEM. OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PAINT AND RUBBER.
(1) Do these steps to drain the APU oil:
(a)
Put the container below the oil drain port on the load gearbox.
(b)
Lift and turn the handle on the oil filler cap (1)
counterclockwise to release the cap.
(c)
Remove the oil filler cap (1).
NOTE: A chain is attached from the inner APU oil tank to the
____ oil filler cap (1) to keep the oil filler cap with the APU.
(d)
Do these steps to remove the oil drain cover (4): 1) Remove the two nuts (6) and two washers (5) that attach the oil drain cover (4) to the adapter assembly (3). 2) Use the puller or an equivalent tool to remove the oil drain cover (4).
3) Remove the packing (2) from the oil drain cover (4). a) Discard the packing (2).
(e)
Use the container to drain the oil from the load gearbox.
