(b)
Manually move the upper and lower rudders fully right (or left) to get access to the lubrication points.
(c)
Release the rudder pedal.
(d)
Attach DO-NOT-OPERATE tags to the hydraulic system.

(2) To prepare the rudder for lubrication with the hydraulic power, do these steps:
(a)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(b)
Do this task to pressurize the hydraulic system No. 1 and 4: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (Ref 29-11-00/201).
(c)
Open these access panels 324DL/324FL (lower rudder) and 324UL (upper rudder) (Ref 06-09-07/201).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ RUDDER CONTROL SURFACES AND THE NOSE LANDING GEAR BEFORE YOU PUSH THE RUDDER PEDAL. THE RUDDERS AND THE LANDING GEAR CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU PUSH THE RUDDER PEDAL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(d)
Push and hold the captain's right (of left) rudder pedal fully forward.
(e)
Remove the hydraulic power from all four hydraulic systems (Ref 29-11-00/201).
(f)
Set the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - TAIL switches No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461, to SHUTOFF.
(g)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
1) P180 DC Power Distribution Panel a) 180E7 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2 b) 180E22 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 4 c) 180H8 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 1 d) 180H23 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3
(h)
Make sure the hydraulic pressure is zero.
(i)
Release the rudder pedal.
F. Lubricate the Rudder Hinges
