WARNING:_______USE CAUTION WHEN YOU DRAIN THE IDG OIL. PUT ON GOGGLES AND GLOVES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
(3) Remove the IDG case drain plug and let the oil flow into the container.
NOTE: Be prepared to catch 1 to 1.5 gallons (4 to 6 liters) of oil.

Remove and discard the O-ring from the IDG case drain plug.

Replace the scavenge filter (AMM 24-11-04/401). Do not fill the IDG with oil or do the dry motor leak check procedure until after you install the IDG case drain plug.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT MIX TYPES OR BRAND NAMES OF OIL. INCORRECT OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDG.
(6) Connect the pressure fill hose from the service cart to the pressure fill coupling.
NOTE: Pressure oiler covers do not leak as much as dust covers.

(7) Use the the service cart to put oil into the IDG until one of these two things occur:
NOTE: Make sure that the IDG overflow drain hose is not below
____ the surface of the oil in the container. Make sure that the hose does not have kinks.
This step will flush the used oil out of the oil cooler system.
(a)
The color of the oil that come out of the case drain is the same as the color of the oil in the service cart.
NOTE:____Some IDG oils are colored black. If the oil used is is colored black used the water check test (AMM 24-11-01/601).
(b)
1 to 1.5 gallons (4 to 6 liters) of oil flows from the IDG case drain.

(8) Install the IDG case drain plug: (a) Lubricate a new O-ring with engine oil. (b) Install the new O-ring on the IDG case drain plug. (c) Tighten the plug to 55-75 pound-inches (6.2-8.5 N.m.). (d) Install lockwire on the IDG case drain plug.
