NOTE:____Optional: To ensure voids are filled, lubricate ball screw nut at flaps 30 and relubricate at flaps 25.

NOTE:____ Remove one ring spring at a time when you lubricate the ring spring (Fig. 302). Install the ring spring immediately after you lubricate it. Adjust the ring springs after you install all of them.
(a) (b) Remove the nut, self-aligning washers and bolt.Remove the ring spring assembly.
(6) S 643-051Lubricate the ring spring assembly: (a) Disassemble the ring spring assembly (OHM 57-22-11).
NOTE:____ Do not remove the retainer from the top of the ring spring assembly.
(b) (c) Butter lubricate each ring spring.Assemble the ring spring assembly (OHM 57-22-11).
(7) S 423-052Install the inboard flap, ring spring assembly: (a) Apply a layer of grease to the bolt and self-aligning washers. (b) Install the washers, ring spring assembly, self-aligning washers, nut and bolt in the sequence shown in section A-A, Fig. 302.
NOTE:____ Install the bolt head down.
(c) Tighten the nut to 800-1400 pound-inches.
NOTE:____ Do this to put the ring springs and the self-aligning washers to the correct preload (compression).
