RUDDER AND RUDDER TRIM CONTROL SYSTEM - SERVICING (LUBRICATION)

1. General_______
A. There are three tasks in this procedure:
-The first task is to lubricate the rudder hinges
-
the second task is to lubricate the upper rudder actuators
-
the third task is to lubricate the rudder ratio changers.
B. You can get access to lubricate the right side easier if you set the rudder to the left.
C. You can get access to lubricate the left side easier if you set the rudder to the right.

Special grease gun (Optional) - a grease gun with extended nipple and 45 degrees bend hose.

(1) To prepare the rudder for lubrication without the hydraulic power, do these steps:
(a) Push and hold the captain's right (or left) rudder pedal fully forward.
