(7) On airplanes with analog air data computer (P/N 60B00058), or with INS INU computer program P/N 7884663-012, wind direction and speed are indicated in the data displays when
XA true airspeed is 150 knots (115 knots after incorporation of AEB AF 34-424 R2) or greater and the data selector is set to WIND. Wind direction is displayed from 0 to 359 degrees in the left-hand data display to the nearest degree. Wind speed is displayed from 0 to 660 knots in the right-hand data display to the nearest knot. Both wind direction and wind speed are indicated at 0 when true
XA airspeed is less than 150 knots (115 knots after incorporation of AEB AF 34-424 R2). An airspeed signal exceeding 606 knots or a malfunction warning from the air data computer causes both displays to indicate 0.
(8)
On airplanes with digital air data computer (P/N 60B40126), wind direction and speed are indicated in the data displays when true airspeed is 115 knots or greater and the data selector is set to WIND. Wind direction is displayed from 0 to 359 degrees in the left-hand data display to the nearest degree. Wind speed is displayed from 0 to 606 knots in the right-hand data display to the nearest knot. Both wind direction and wind speed are indicated at 0 when true airspeed is less than 115 knots. An airspeed signal exceeding 606 knots or a malfunction warning from the air data computer also causes both displays to indicate 0.
(9)
When the CDU HOLD key is pressed and illuminated, with the data selector at WIND, a display of the nose or stern component of wind replaces the display of wind direction and speed. N for a nose wind or S for a stern wind will be displayed in the left-hand data display and the component of wind on the airplane longitudinal axis, from 0 to 606 knots, will be displayed in the right-hand data display.
(10)
Desired track angle and system status are indicated in the data displays when the data selector switch is set to DSRTK/STS. Desired track angle is displayed from 0 to 359 degrees to the nearest degree with respect to true north in the left-hand data display. System status is displayed in the right-hand data display. During normal operation only three of the six digits are lighted.
(a)
The first digit indicates whether the INS is in navigation mode (1) or if it is in either align or standby modes (0). This digit is a true indication of the INS operating mode and does not necessarily agree with the setting of the mode selector on the MSU. For example, if the mode selector is moved directly from STBY to NAV, this digit will not go from 0 to 1 until the alignment process has been completed and the INS actually enters the navigation mode. Similarly, returning the mode selector to ALIGN after the navigation mode has been entered will not change this digit from 1.
(b)
The second and third digits light only when a malfunction has occurred. These numbers are called action and malfunction codes and are explained in the trouble shooting section.
