GLIDE SLOPE ANTENNA COAXIAL RELAY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
________________________________________________________
1. General_______
A. Two glide slope antenna coaxial relays are installed one each on panels P31 and P32. The panels are located on the forward side of station 400 bulkhead in the lower forward equipment bay. The relays are secured to the panels by screws and have provisions for connecting 3 coaxial cables and one electrical connector. On LH 011-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499, a third coaxial relay for glide slope antenna system No. 3 is installed on panel P31.
2. Equipment and Materials_______________________
A. Nose landing gear door lock - 7MIT65B04012
B. Ferrite bar 1.20 X 1.45 X 0.03 inches in size - Ferroxcube Corporation 3E2A or equivalent. (2 required)
3. Referenced Procedures_____________________
A. 34-31-00, VOR/ILS Navigation System - Adjustment/Test
4. Remove Glide Slope Antenna Coaxial Relay________________________________________
A. Examine all glide slope antenna coaxial relays (switches) to determine that the serial number of each relay with a part number 910C31200 has a suffix "E" (e.i., 357E).
NOTE: When you replace the coaxial relay with a Transco coaxial relay
____ part number 910C31200, make sure that the serial number has a suffix "E".
B. Disconnect coaxial cables and electrical connector from relay.
C. Remove screws securing relay to panel. Use care not to drop relay as it comes loose from support.
5. Install Glide Slope Antenna Coaxial Relay_________________________________________
A. Position relay to mounting base and install screws.
B. Connect cables to relay and hand-tighten.
C. AF 157, 161, 183, 184 WITHOUT SB 34-2264, perform prepare-to-test and glide slope test portions of system test (Ref 34-31-00).
D. LH 011-099; AF 115-156, 158-160, 162-182, 185-199, AND AF 157, 161, 183, 184 WITH SB 34-2264; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-400; AT ALL; GN ALL; MD ALL AND VM ALL, test coaxial relays for satisfactory operation as follows:
(1)
Install nose gear door locks.
WARNING:_______REFER TO 32-00-30 FOR LOCK INSTALLATION PROCEDURE. RAPID ACTION OF DOORS MAY INJURE PERSONNEL OR DAMAGE EQUIPMENT IF LOCKS ARE NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED.
(2)
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).
(3)
Check that appropriate circuit breakers on panels P7, P12 and P126 are closed.
