(10)
Position captain's VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 3, F/O 2. Verify that VOR 1 and 2 bearing pointers do not move.
(11)
Close VOR 3 AC circuit breaker and verify that VOR 1 bearing pointers return to initial bearing noted in step (1).
(12)
Open VOR 3 AC circuit breaker.
(13)
Position captain's VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 1, F/O 3.

(16)
Close VOR 1 AC and VOR 2 AC circuit breakers.
(17)
Position compass controller -- DG SLAVED switches to DG.
(18)
Slew compass cards using compass controller SET HDG knobs and verify VOR 1 and 2 bearing pointers follow heading changes.

Return compass cards to airplane heading and position DG -- SLAVED switches to SLAVED.
5. System Test - VOR/ILS Navigation System
_______________________________________
A. General
(1)
The following procedures accomplish system test of the VOR/ILS navigation system on the airplane. The test procedure is described for the captain's or No. 1 VOR/ILS navigation system. The first officer's (No. 2 VOR/ILS) system may be tested either separately or concurrently with the No. 1 system, providing separate test frequencies are used. The procedure for testing the first officer's system is identical to the tests given except that the first officer's controls and instruments are used and indications appear on the wide pointer of both RMI's instead of the narrow pointer. The No. 3 VOR/ILS receiver can be tested by selecting the aux nav receiver at either the captain's or first officer's position and repeating the system test using the controls and displays corresponding to the position selected.
(2)
On AT ALL; LH 011-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399 and IB 406-499, to test operation of an ILS buffer amplifier, provide localizer and glide slope test signals using two signal generators (Step B). Then perform steps C, D, G and H of the system test with the captain's and first officer's VOR/ILS navigation system transfer switches positioned as follows:

(b)
On LH 011-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399 and IB 406-499, position captain's VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 3 F/O 2 for testing amplifier No. 1 (B556) and to CAPT 1 F/O 3 for testing amplifier No. 2 (B557).

(1) 34-31-00, Adjustment/Test (Operational Test)
D. Prepare to Test VOR/ILS Navigation System
(1)
Perform VOR/ILS operational test (Ref 34-31-00). Do not remove electrical power.
(2)
Locate signal generator approximately 75 feet (unobstructed) from side of airplane fin and set up to provide an ON-COURSE VOR test signal on 0. radial with 1000-Hz tone modulation at a frequency of
108.00 MHz.
NOTE: When using Instrument Flight Research NAV-401L test set,
____ "to/from" switch must remain in "from" position for the following VOR tests.
(3) Set course counter on AP/FD mode select panel to 000. Verify that HSI course arrow agrees with course counter setting.
E. VOR Manual Test
(1)
Select 108.00-MHz test frequency on VHF NAV control panel. Verify that VOR audio (1000-Hz tone) is available at all audio selector panels with VHF NAV monitoring capability.
