 (d)
Select a VOR frequency. Check that ADI and HSI localizer and glide slope flags and pointers are out of view.

 (3)
Actuate VOR self-test switch on captain's VHF NAV control panel while verifying following on captain's instruments:

 (a)
HSI course deviation bar centers.

 (b)
On AF airplanes with Bendix RNA-26C receivers, HSI to/from pointer indicates from, RMI narrow pointers indicate 180 |3 degrees with respect to indicator lubber line, and HSI NAV and RMI VOR flags remain out of view throughout test.

 (c)
On GN, LH and MD airplanes with Bendix RNA-26C receivers or LH airplanes with Bendix RNA-34A (P/N 2041234-3409) receivers, HSI to/from pointer indicates to, RMI narrow pointers indicate 0 |3 degrees with respect to indicator lubber line, and HSI NAV and RMI VOR flags remain out of view throughout test.

 (d)
On ALL AF, AT, AZ, IB, MD, SN and VM airplanes with Bendix RNA-34A (P/Ns 2041234-3401 or -3406), Collins 51RV-2B, -4 or -4B, or King Radio KNR 6030 receivers, HSI to/from pointer indicates from, RMI narrow pointers indicate 180 |3 degrees with respect to indicator lubber line, and HSI NAV and RMI VOR flags remain in view for up to 9 seconds depending on RMI pointer slew time to 180 degrees position, retracts from view, and 20 |5 seconds after initiating test, flags reappear and remains in view for remainder of test.

 (e)  On AF and AZ airplanes with Collins 51RV-2B or 51RV-4 receivers, HSI to/from pointer indicates FROM, RMI narrow pointers indicate 180 |3 degrees with respect to indicator lubber line, and HSI NAV and RMI VOR flags remain in view for up to 9 seconds depending on RMI printer slew time to 180 degree position and then retracts from view until the test switch is not released.
NOTE:____1.  The Bendix RNA-34A, Collins 51RV-4 ( ), and King Radio KNR 6030 receivers have a 3-second delay time delay time for NAV flag retraction.
 2.
With Bendix RNA-34A receivers installed, RMI needle operation will be in step sequence due to digital output of these receivers.

 3.
With King Radio KNR 6030 receivers installed, the HSI nav and RMI VOR flags will remain in view for 3 |1 seconds, then retract and remain out of view.

 (4)
Release test switch.

 (5)
Repeat VOR self-test using F/O's VHF NAV controls and instruments. Check that results are same except RMI indications are on wide pointers.

 (6)
Select aux nav receiver in turn at captain's and first officer's stations and repeat VOR self-tests. Check that results are same as for testing receiver 1 or 2.

 (7)
Return captain's and first officer's nav receiver selection to normal (captain 1, first officer 2).

 (8)
Select a frequency of 108.10 MHz on captain's VHF NAV control panel and verify following on captain's instruments:

 (a)  On ALL AF, AT, AZ, GN, IB, LH, MD, SN and VM airplanes, RMI narrow pointers stow at 3 o'clock.
NOTE: RMI pointer stowing not applicable on LH airplanes with
____ BENDIX RNA 26C (P/N2067593-2662) receivers installed.
 (b)
HSI glide slope flag, pointer, and nav flag are in view.

 (c)
HSI to/from pointer out of view.

 (9)  On XA ALL EXCEPT LH 001-013, 051-060, 082 and 083, actuate UP/LT ILS self-test switch on captain's VHF NAV control panel while verifying following on captain's instruments:
 (a)
Course deviation bar 1 dot left

 (b)
Glide slope pointers 1 dot up

 (c)
On AF, GN and MD airplanes with Bendix RNA-26C (P/N-2657) receivers, HSI NAV flag and ADI and HSI GS flags out-of-view.

 (d)
On AF, AT, IB, and SN airplanes with Collins 51RV-2B, -4B or Bendix RNA-34A (P/N-3401) receivers, ADI RWY, HSI NAV and ADI and HSI GS flags remain in view for 3 seconds, retract from view and 25 |5 seconds after initiating test, reappear and remain in view.

 (f)
On AF and VM airplanes with Collins 51RV-4 receivers or AZ and MD airplanes with Bendix RNA-34A (P/N-3406) receivers, ADI RWY, HSI NAV and ADI and HSI GS flags retract and remain out-of-view until self-test switch is released.

 (g)
On LH airplanes with Gables G-5546-02 VHF NAV control panels and Bendix RNA-34A (P/N 3409) receivers, ADI and HSI glide slope flags retract from view and remain out of view for as long as self-test is actuated.
