 VOR/ILS NAVIGATION SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
___________________________________________
 1.  General
_______
 A.  The VOR/ILS navigation system adjustment/test consists of three procedures, an operational test (paragraph 4), a system test (paragraph 5), and a partial test (paragraph 6). The operational test gives a confidence test of the system utilizing on-board equipment only. The system test is predicated on successful completion of the operational test and cannot be performed alone. The partial test should be used only to determine a GO-NO-GO condition of the system. The system test and partial test also encompass other subsystems having interface with the VOR/ILS navigation system. The Prepare to Test VOR/ILS Navigation System procedures in paragraph 3 must be performed prior to performing the operational test, the system test, or the partial test.
 B.  The VOR/ILS navigation systems may be tested separately or concurrently using any of the procedures. The procedure using the 972Q-4 or the T30A/B ramp test set may be performed with the signal generators inside the airplane except for the localizer antenna test. The localizer antenna test must be performed with the test set outside the airplane to assure that the localizer antenna cabling is connected. All procedures may also be performed with the signal generators outside the airplane operating in the radiating mode.
