 4.  Remove Antenna (Fig. 401)______________
 WARNING: CHECK THAT POWER IS OFF ON WEATHER RADAR AND ANTENNA IS NOT
_______ SCANNING TO AVOID CONTACT WITH HIGH-FREQUENCY RADAR SIGNALS OR PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH SCANNING ANTENNA.
 A.  Release six latches which secure nose radome using a 5/16-inch (Allen) wrench; depress each fastener and turn counterclockwise.
 CAUTION: THE WRENCH MUST NOT BE INSERTED INTO THE LATCH PERPENDICULAR
_______ TO THE AIRPLANE SKIN; IT MUST SLANT AWAY (AFT) FROM THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE (FIG. 402). DO NOT USE A HAMMER OR IN ANY WAY FORCE THE WRENCH INTO THE LATCH. MAKE SURE THE WRENCH IS INSERTED COMPLETELY INTO THE LATCH BEFORE TURNING OR DAMAGE TO THE LATCH WILL RESULT.
 B.  Swing radome open and insert two quick-release pins located near each radome hinge into hold-open locks.
 C.  Disconnect coaxial connector(s) and remove antenna mounting screws.
 5.  Install Antenna (Fig. 401)_______________
 A.  Position antenna to support and install mounting screws.
 B.  Connect coaxial cable(s) to antenna and hand-tighten.
 C.  Close and secure nose radome by inserting 5/16-inch Allen wrench into each fastener and turning clockwise. Be sure depressed inner latch returns to its original position (even with the airplane skin).
 D.  Test antenna for satisfactory operation by conducting glide slope capture antenna coaxial relay test portion of system test - VOR/ILS Navigation System (Ref 34-31-00).

 FLIGHT INSTRUMENT SWITCHING RELAY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
________________________________________________________
 1.  General
_______
 A.  The flight instrument switching relays associated with the VOR/ILS navigation system are located in flight instrument relay panel P73. They are comprised of two radio/INS and two VOR/ILS A transfer relays. On AF 121, 122, 151-199; AZ 223-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499; LH 011-099; GN ALL; MD ALL and VM ALL, the flight instrument switching relays consist of two radio/INS, two VOR/ILS A and two VOR/ILS B transfer relays. On AT ALL, the flight instrument switching relays consists of two radio/INS, two VOR/ILS A, two VOR/ILS B and 2 deviation transfer relay.
 2.  Referenced Procedures

 A.  24-22-00, Maintenance Practices (Apply Power)
 3.  Remove Flight Instrument Switching Relay
________________________________________
 A.  Open applicable CAPT or F/O FLT INST SW RELAYS circuit breaker on overhead circuit breaker panel P7.
 B.  Remove cover from relay panel P73 located on left side of El rack in main equipment center.
 C.  Disconnect electrical connectors and remove relay from panel.
 4.  Install Flight Instrument Switching Relay
_________________________________________ XA On A/C incorporating AEB AF34-162 indexing pins preclude installation of XA inappropriate relays.
 A.  Install relay in panel and connect electrical connectors.
 B.  Install flight instrument relay panel cover.
 C.  Close circuit breaker opened in paragraph 3.A.
 D.  Test relay for satisfactory operation as follows:
 (1)  
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (2)  
Operate applicable instrument transfer switch and check for correct VOR/ILS - INS or 1, 2 or 3 NAV source annunciation on captain's or first officer's HSI and correct VOR/ILS transfer relay position annunciation on captain's instrument panel.

 (3)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).
