 CAUTION: THE WRENCH MUST NOT BE INSERTED INTO THE LATCH PERPENDICULAR
_______ TO THE AIRPLANE SKIN; IT MUST SLANT AWAY (AFT) FROM THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE (FIG. 402). DO NOT USE A HAMMER OR IN ANY WAY FORCE THE WRENCH INTO THE LATCH. MAKE SURE THE WRENCH IS INSERTED COMPLETELY INTO THE LATCH BEFORE TURNING OR DAMAGE TO THE LATCH WILL RESULT.
 B.  Swing radome open and insert two quick-release pins located near each radome hinge into hold-open locks.
 C.  Disconnect coaxial connector(s) and remove antenna mounting screws.
 4.  Install Localizer Antenna (Fig. 401)

 A.  Position antenna to support and install mounting screws.
 B.  Connect coaxial cable(s) to antenna and hand-tighten.
 C.  Close and secure nose radome by inserting 5/16-inch Allen wrench into each fastener and turning clockwise. Be sure depressed inner latch returns to its original position (even with the airplane skin).
 D.  Test lower localizer antenna for satisfactory operation as follows:
 (1)  
Disconnect electrical connector DB63D from antenna switch No. 1.

 (2)  
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (3)  
Position AP/FD MSP mode selector to HDG.

 (4)  
Energize flight interphone system and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 1.

 (5)  
Tune VOR/ILS navigation system No. 1 to local VOR station and listen for identification code on flight interphone system.

 (6)  
Turn off flight interphone and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 1

 (7)  
Remove electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (8)  
Connect electrical connector DB63D to antenna switch No. 1.

 (9)  
Disconnect electrical connector DB64D from antenna switch No. 2.

 (10)
 Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (11)
 Energize flight interphone system and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 2.

 Tune VOR/ILS navigation system No. 2 to local VOR station and listen for identification code on flight interphone system.

 (13)
 Turn off flight interphone and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 2.

 (14)
 Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).

 (15)
 Connect electrical connector DB64D to antenna switch No. 2.


 E.  Test upper localizer antenna (antenna No. 3) for satisfactory operation as follows:
 (1)  
Disconnect electrical connector DB299D from antenna switch No. 3.

 (2)  
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).

 (3)  
Position AP/FD MSP mode selector to HDG.

 (4)  
Select No. 3 VOR/ILS receiver at captain's station.

 (5)  
Energize flight interphone and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 3.

 (6)  
Tune VOR/ILS navigation receiver No. 3 to local VOR station and listen for identification code on flight interphone system.

 (7)  
Turn off flight interphone and VOR/ILS navigation system No. 3.

 (8)  
Return captain's VOR/ILS receiver selection to 1 (normal).

 (9)  
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).

 (10)
 Connect electrical connector DB299D to antenna switch No. 3.

 GLIDE SLOPE CAPTURE ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  This procedure applies to these airplanes:
 LH 011-099; AF 121, 122, 152-156, 158-160, 162-182, 185-199, AND AF 157, 161, 183, 184 WITH SB 34-2264; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499; AT ALL; GN ALL; MD ALL AND VM ALL
 2.  General_______
 A.  The glide slope capture antenna is located in the nose radome beneath the weather radar antenna as shown in Fig. 401. The antenna is secured to the mounting structure by screws and has provisions for connecting two coaxial cables. On LH 011-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499, a second glide slope capture antenna is mounted 6 inches above the other capture antenna.
