 Release ILS test switch.

 (11)
 On LH 014-050, 061-081 and 084-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499; AT ALL, check GS-3 and LOC-3 fail-op annunciators on center instrument panel as follows:

 (a)  
Select alternate VOR/ILS receiver No. 3 at captain's station.

 (b)  
Select an ILS frequency on captain's VHF/NAV control panel.

 (c)  
Actuate an ILS UP/LT self-test on captain's VHF/NAV control panel. Check that GS-3 and LOC-3 fail-op annunciators on center instrument panel change from red to black and remain black for as long as self-test is actuated.

 (d)  
Release self-test switch. Check that annunciators change from black to red.

 

 (12)
 Return the transfer switch to normal.

 (13)
 Repeat ILS self-tests using F/O's VHF NAV controls and instruments. Check that results are same except RMI indications are on wide pointers.

 (14)
 On XA ALL EXCEPT AT Airplanes,
 perform the following steps:


 (a)  
Position captain's VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 3 F/O 2. Check that NAV source annunciator in captain's HSI indicates 3 and F/O's indicates 2, and that relay position annunciator indicates CAPT 3 F/O 2.

 (b)  
Position VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 1 F/O 3. Check that NAV source annunciator in captain's HSI indicates 1 and F/O's indicates 3, and that relay position annunciator indicates CAPT 1 F/O 3.

 (c)  
Position VOR/ILS transfer switch to CAPT 1 F/O 2. Check that relay position annuciator indicates CAPT 1 F/O 2.

 

 (15)
 On AT ALL,
 perform the following steps:


 (a)  
Position VOR/ILS 3 transfer switch to CAPT 3 and check that NAV source annunciator in CAPT's HSI indicates 3 and F/O's indicate 2.

 (b)  
Position VOR/ILS 3 transfer switch to F/O 3. Check that NAV source annunciator in CAPT's HSI indicates 1 and F/O's indicates 3.

 (c)  
Position captain's DEV transfer switch to ON F/O. Check that CAPT's and F/O's HSI NAV source annunciators indicate 3.

 (d)  
Position first officer's DEV transfer switch to ON CAPT. Check that both HSI NAV source annunciators remain 3.

 (e)  
Position captain's DEV transfer switch to NORM. Check that CAPT's and F/O's HSI NAV source annunciators indicate 1.

 (f)  
Position VOR/ILS 3 transfer switch to NORM. Check that both HSI NAV source annunciations remain 1.

 (g)  
Position first officer's DEV transfer switch to NORM. Check that NAV source annunciator in CAPT's HSI indicates 1 and F/O's indicates 2.


 (16)
 Select a frequency of 108.10 MHz on captain's and first officer's VHF NAV control panels. Check that captain's and first officer's HSI glide slope flags and pointers are in view.

 (17)
 Position captain's and first officer's VOR/ILS INS switches to INS. Check that captain's and first officer's HSI VOR/ILS INS annunciators indicate INS and that glide slope pointers and flags are biased out of view.

 (18)
 Position captain's and first officer's VOR/ILS INS switches to VOR/ILS. Check that HSI VOR/ILS INS annunciators indicate VOR/ILS and that glide slope flags and pointers are in view.

 (19)
 Select a frequency of 108.0 MHz on captain's and first officer's VHF NAV control panels. Check that ADI and HSI glide slope flags and pointers are biased out of view.


 C.  Test VOR Bearing Excitation (LH 014-050, 063-081, 084-099; AZ 235-280, 282-299 and SN 351-399, plus AZ, IB and LH airplanes incorporating SB 34-2261)
 (1)  
Note VOR bearing for RDDMI bearing pointers 1 and 2 and magnetic heading of both HSI and RDDMI compass cards.

 (2)  
Open VOR 1 AC, VOR 2 AC and VOR 3 AC circuit breakers on panels P7 and P126.

 (3)  
Position both compass controller DG -- SLAVED switches to DG.

 (4)  
Using compass controller SET HDG knobs, slew compass cards 90 degrees in either direction and verify that VOR 1 and 2 bearing pointers do not follow heading changes.

 (5)  
Close VOR 1 AC circuit breaker and verify that VOR 1 bearing pointers move to initial bearing noted in step (1).

 (6)  
Open VOR 1 AC circuit breaker.

 (7)  
Close VOR 2 AC circuit breaker and verify that VOR 2 bearing pointers move to initial bearing noted in step (1).

 (8)  
Open VOR 2 AC circuit breaker.
