perform the following:
(a)
Open G/S 1 circuit breaker on OVHD CB panel P7.
(b)
Transfer VOR/ILS No. 3 into No. 1 position and repeat steps
(4) and (5) for system No. 1.
(c)
Return transfer switch to "normal" position and close G/S 1 circuit breaker. G/S-1 ANT annunciator may come on momentarily but should not stay on.
(11)
On LH 011-099; AZ 221-299; SN 351-399; IB 406-499 repeat steps (10) (a) thru (10) (c) using G/S-3 ANT test switch and observing G/S-3 ANT annunciator.
(12)
Reconnect track antenna cable DB119A. Check that ADI and HSI glide slope flags disappear.
(13)
Return VOR/ILS transfer switch to normal position.
(14)
Vary glide slope test signal in deviation and output level and check for proper ADI and HSI glide slope flag and pointer operation.
(15)
Turn off equipment, disconnect and repack signal generators and remove electrical power if no longer required.
6. Partial Test - VOR/ILS Navigation System
________________________________________
A. General
(1) The following test uses the T30A/B Ramp Test Set to give a GO-NO-GO condition of the VOR/ILS NAVIGATION SYSTEM. The captain's (No. 1) and the first officer's (No. 2) systems may be tested either separately or concurrently. The No. 3 VOR/ILS receiver can be tested by selecting the No. 3 (auxiliary) receiver for either the No. 1 or the No. 2 system using the VOR/ILS transfer switching and repeating the tests using the controls and displays at the corresponding position.
B. Equipment and Materials
(1) VOR/ILS Ramp Test Set - Tel-Instrument Electronics Corporation, Type T-30/T-30/B
C. Prepare to Test VOR/ILS Navigation System
(1) Perform Prepare to Test VOR/ILS Navigation System procedures in par. 3.
D. Test VOR/ILS Navigation System
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TEST SETS IF BATTERY CHECK METER INDICATION IS RED.
_______
NOTE: Test set signal generator POWER switches are spring-loaded to off
____ and must be held in ON position during the following tests.
(1) Localizer Antenna Test
(a)
Tune VOR/ILS navigation systems to ILS test frequencies. Check that HSI striped NAV flag and ADI and HSI GS flags are in view and that RMI VOR bearing pointers stow at 3 o'clock.
(b)
Position T28A localizer test set approximately 50 feet forward of nose radome.
(c)
On T28A localizer test set, position course switch to ON COURSE and extend antenna.
EFFECTIVITY
ALL 03 Page 515 Sep 25/9434-31-00
(d)
Hold T28A POWER switch in ON position. Check that HSI striped NAV flag goes out of view and that HSI course deviation bar is centered.
(e)
Position T28A course switch to LEFT and RIGHT positions and check that HSI course deviation bar follows course switch positioning.
(f)
Release T28A POWER switch.
(2) VOR Test
(a)
Tune VOR/ILS navigation systems to VOR test frequencies.
(b)
Position T27A VOR Test Set bearing switch to 0. - TO and extend T27A antenna.
(c)
Hold T27A POWER switch in ON position. Check that HSI striped NAV flag goes out of view, course deviation bar is centered, to/from indicator points to head of course arrow and that applicable RMI VOR bearing pointer indicates 0 (| 4) degree.
NOTE: It may be necessary to reposition test set to receive
____
a usable test signal.
(d)
Move T27A |1. switch up and down and check for a 1. change by bearing pointers.
