H. Protection of the APU
(1)
Do an inspection of the APU for preservation (Ref. TASK 49-20-00-210-001).
(2)
Do the preservation of the APU (Ref. TASK 49-20-00-600-002).
(3)
If necessary, apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) on cases, solenoids, brackets, screws and bolt heads in the APU compartment.

J. Visual Inspection of the Drains
(1) Make sure that all the external structural drain holes are not clogged:
(a)
In the lower fuselage (Ref. TASK 53-59-00-210-001).
(b)
On the pylons (Ref. TASK 54-50-00-200-001).
(c)
On the engines.
(d) In all other locations. Subtask 10-12-00-620-087
K. External Protections of the Aircraft
(1)
With STORAGE PRESERVATION (Material No. 15-002) and adhesive tape:
(a)
Put a cover on the top of the rudder to prevent bird excrement.
(b)
Seal:
-
the surge-tank overpressure,
-
the L and R ailerons to prevent bird nests,
-
the air conditioning inlets and outlets,
-
the avionics ventilation inlets and outlets,
-
the battery venturi.
(2)
Blank off with fine nylon netting and adhesive tape:
-
the fuel NACA air-intakes
-
the overpressure protector outlet (wing tanks)
-all the drain valves
(3)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-005) on the trailing edge of the wings.
(4)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027):
- on the leading edges of the nacelles and THS
- on the refuel/defuel panel
- on all the unpainted light-alloy areas.

L. Protection of the Cabin and Cockpit
(1)
Protect with a plastic film:
-all the passenger and cockpit seats
-the carpets of the cabin aisles, cockpit and galley areas.
(2)
Open the cockpit and window shades.

M. Protection of the Doors
(1)
Lubricate the external control handles of the passenger/crew doors (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-006).
(2)
Lubricate the safety pin guide fitting and the door arming/disarming mechanism (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-014).
(3)
Lubricate the hinge-arm support-fitting bearings (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-016).
(4)
Lubricate the cargo-compartment doors (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-002).
(5)
Lubricate the cargo-compartment door handles (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-009).
(6)
Lubricate the bulk-cargo door handle (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-007).
(7)
Lubricate the avionics compartment-door handles (Ref. TASK 12-22-52-640-008).
(8)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-043) on the seals of all the doors.
