• If FINAL APP mode is used, enter an MDH in the MDH field of the MCDU. The AP will
disconnect and the FD will revert to HDG-V/S or TRK-FPA mode at an altitude (equal to
MDH + airport elevation - 50 ft),
The altitude indication on PFD does not become amber at MDA.
Use TRK-FPA or NAV-FPA or NAV-V/S or FINAL APP modes down to minimum.
For LOC (or LOC B/C) approaches : Use LOC/FPA ‐ (or LOC B/C / FPA) modes down to
minimum.
‐ At the correct altitude the color on the PFD altitude scale changes from green to amber.
Note: If the MDA is greater than 5 000 ft, the value is not accepted and the message OUT
OF RANGE is displayed on the MCDU. In such a case, the MDH field remains blank
and the PNF should announce the callouts.
Applicable to:
PROCEDURES
No specific procedures are necessary for takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and go around phases.
PROCEDURE FOR PRECISION APPROACHES (CAT 2 AND CAT 3)
Insert the DH into the DH field of the PERF APPR page as usual.
PROCEDURE FOR ILS APPROACH (CAT 1)
Insert the DA into the MDH field of the PERF APPR page.

PROCEDURE FOR NON-PRECISION APPROACHES (NPA)
‐ For NPAs other than LOC and LOC B/C :
• If NAV-FPA or NAV-V/S mode is used, enter an MDA (not an MDH) in the MDH field of the
MCDU. The altitude indication on PFD becomes amber at MDA.
‐ For LOC (or LOC B/C) approaches : Use LOC/FPA (or LOC B/C / FPA) modes down to
PROCEDURE FOR RNP AR APPROACH
‐ Insert a barometric decision height in the MDH field of the MDCU. The AP will automatically
disconnect at the corresponding DA – 50 ft.
‐ The “Hundred Above” and “Minimum” callouts must be announced by the PNF. The
autocallout triggering and the altitude scale turning amber, will not occur or will occur too late,
depending on the airfield elevation.

PROCEDURES
No specific procedures are necessary for takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and go around phases.
PROCEDURE FOR PRECISION APPROACHES (CAT 2 AND CAT 3) :
Insert the DH into the RADIO field of the PERF APPR page, as per standard procedure.
PROCEDURE FOR ILS APPROACH (CAT 1)
Insert the barometric into the BARO field of the PERF APPR page, as per standard procedure.
PROCEDURE FOR NON-PRECISION APPROACHES (NPA) :
Insert the MDA value into the BARO field of the PERF APPR page, as per standard procedure.

QFE USE FOR TO/APPR/LDG ON AIRCRAFT WITH QNH ONLY PIN PROGRAMMING
Applicable to:
The crew should not use QFE on aircraft with a “QNH only” pin programming (incorrect profile
computation of the managed vertical modes CLB, DES and FINAL APPR, possible false GPWS
warnings in mountainous areas).
ENHANCED GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM (EGPWS)
Applicable to:
The Flight Management System (FMS) provides aircraft position inputs to the EGPWS for enhanced
function processing purpose.
The TERR pushbutton located on the overhead panel enables the activation or deactivation of the
enhanced functions of the EGPWS.
During all flight phases, when the check of the navigation accuracy performed by the pilots (as
described in chapters PRO NOR SOP and PRO NOR SOP 01) is positive, the enhanced functions
should be switched ON.
During climb, descent, approach, and go around phases, when GPS PRIMARY is not available (or
not installed) and the FMS navigation accuracy check prevents the flight crew from using the NAV
mode in a phase of flight, the TERR pushbutton must be switched OFF.
