FL 374, whereas the actual figure should be REC MAX ALT = FL 379.
If the flight crew does not modify the FMS default tropopause, the REC MAX ALT computed by
the FMS (all engines) corresponds to the real REC MAX ALT.

PROCEDURE
To minimize the effect of temperature model error in the FMS computation of the Recommended
Maximum Altitude (REC MAX ALT), the ECON CRZ Mach Number, and the ETA parameters:
During the flight plan initialization or during flight, DO NOT MODIFY the default troppause value
(36 090 ft) displayed on the INIT page or the FUEL PRED page of the MCDU
ENTER the temperature on the CRZ WIND pages at the expected CRZ FL
Refer to 99 Duref Cible QRH, as necessary, to determine the REC MAX ALT, for all engine or
engine out conditions.
MCDU FROZEN AFTER THE FLIGHT CREW
ACCESSES THE "DIR TO" OR "HOLD" FUNCTION
Applicable to:
When the flight crew attempts to access the “DIR TO” function (via the DIR) or the “HOLD” function
(via the HOLD prompt on the LAT REV MCDU page), the corresponding MCDU may remain frozen.
In such a case, the MCDU simultaneously displays an “A/C POSITION INVALID” scratchpad
message, in white (note that in other cases of display, the “A/C POSITION INVALID” message is
amber).
PROCEDURE
If the MCDU is frozen after the flight crew accesses the “DIR TO” or “HOLD” function :
APPLY the manual reset procedure provided in Refer to 99 Duref Cible FCOM to successively
reset both FMGCs.
DUAL FMS RESET WHEN THE "HISTORY" PART OF THE
INFLIGHT PRINT CONTAINS MORE THAN 200 WAYPOINTS
Applicable to:
If the “history” part of an inflight print contains more than 200 legs, a dual reset occurs and the flight
plan is lost. The reset occurs even if the flight crew does not attempt to perform an inflight print,
because the FMS stores at each time the content of a potential inflight print in its memory.
The “history” part of an inflight print may contain more than 200 legs if the FMS has spuriously kept
the history values of previous flights. In particular, the FMS does not erase the history values if the
flight crew initializes the flight plan via an AOC flight plan uplink.
PROCEDURE
The aim of this procedure is to force the deletion of the “history” legs upon AOC flight plan uplink.
If the flight crew wishes to initialize the flight plan via an AOC uplink:

VHF, HF UTILIZATION
Applicable to: ALL
Note: 1. Reception of some frequencies could be noisy, on one or more VHFs. In such cases, try
selecting an unaffected one.
2. If two frequencies are closer than 2 MHz (between VHF1 and 2, or between VHF3 and
2), or closer than 6 MHz (between VHF1 and 3), some interference may occur.
Applicable to:
TUNING
The pilot should normally use his onside RMP to tune any one of the VHF or HF radios. If the SEL
lights come on, when tuning the radio, the pilot should turn them off by selecting the appropriate
radio system dedicated to his RMP.
ON/OFF switch................................................................................................................ CHECK ON
VHF or HF key....................................................................................................................... PRESS
The green light comes on.
ACTIVE and STBY/CRS windows display active and preset frequencies, respectively.
Note: When an RMP tunes a transceiver that is normally associated with another RMP, the
SEL lights on both RMPs come on.
