PRESSURIZATION CONTROL SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General (Fig. 1)_______
A. The pressurization control system maintains a comfortable and safe cabin pressure, by controlling the rate of airflow from the cabin, in all flight modes. The air conditioning system provides air for pressurization (Ref 21-00-00).
B. The system uses two modes of operation, automatic and manual. Positive-pressure-relief valves (Ref 21-32-00) and cargo vent doors (Ref 52-34-00) provide backup protection against overpressurization. Pressure indicators and altitude switches provide cabin pressure indication and warning (Ref 21-33-00).
