(3) Pull the prefilter out of the filter support.
NOTE:____The filter may be hard to move. It is held in position by springs which push the filter toward the mix manifold.
(a) To remove the prefilter media, do this step: 1) Twist the frame and remove the media.

A. General
(1)
There is a filter holder on each side of the mix manifold. Each filter holder has these filters:

A prefilter
(b)
A high-efficiency filter

Install the Left Recirculation Prefilter

(1) If the filter media is removed from the prefilter, do these steps:
CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE FILTER MEDIA. THE MEDIA CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED.
(a)
Install the new media on the filter frame.
(b)
Make sure the blue side of the media is on the upstream side of the filter.
NOTE: The upstream side of the filter is identified by an
____ arrow found on the side of the filter.

Push the prefilter through the forward face of the filter holder.
(a)
Push the prefilter against the high efficiency filter.
(3)
Put the cover assembly on the filter holder.

Tighten the 1/4-turn studs (20 locations) to hold the cover in position.

Install the Right Recirculation Prefilter

(1) If the filter media is removed from the prefilter, do these steps:

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from L and R PACK selectors, on the P5 panel.

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the applicable RECIRC FAN switch/light, on the P5 panel.

Install the right-recirculation-filter access-panel in the aft bulkhead of the forward cargo compartment.
(4)
Close the No. 1 Cargo Door, 821 (AMM 06-46-00/201).
